A Government Insurrection Against The People

Tuesday, February 26th, 2019

Leave Means Leave

What happens when a referendum is held, but three years later, the government responsible for enacting the results of the referendum has failed to comply?  We’re about to learn the answer to that question, as the people of the UK have been betrayed by their government.  The people voted for “Brexit” very nearly three years ago.  Their government promised to carry out their wishes.  They wanted to leave the European Union.  Instead, rather than accede to the lawful demands of the people, the government has conspired to ignore those results, spending most of the intervening time trying to re-litigate the case in order to convince the public that it should not “Brexit.”  At this point, given this coup d’etat against the rule of law, the people of the UK would be justified in any action undertaken to forcibly remove the current government, cast off the parliament, and reform government anew.  In short, they would be right to seize control through violent means and eject the traitors who have effectively abolished the rule of law.  Theresa May has been a disgrace, and her latest surrender to the so-called “Remainers” is just the latest betrayal.  At stake is the whole of the UK as a credible institution of government, but once more, the people of the UK, by accepting this, will ratify all the tyrannies that will be heaped upon them in the future.  They are accepting a permanent insurrection by the government against the people.

The late 18th century French diplomat, lawyer and philosopher Joseph de Maistre is quoted as having said:

“Toute nation a le gouvernement qu’elle mérite.

Translated, this is “Every nation gets the government it deserves.”  Considering this momentarily, it is essentially correct.  People who will permit the rise of tyranny will soon find a tyrant ruling over them.  Those who purposefully restrain and restrict their government will maintain its awful power in some semblance of control.  It’s a story as old as governments.  Now in the UK, the people on both sides of the referendum held nearly three years ago are permitting the government to delay and obfuscate and confound the exit.  It’s shameful, but it demonstrates what happens when a people forget the historical lessons learned through the blood and toil of their forebears.  They are permitting their government to abscond with the rule of law.  Some might wonder why this should concern the American people, but I believe there exists an important warning in this case.

The problem is that too many in their government have become too thoroughly convinced that they know what’s best for the people, irrespective of the notions of the people.  They believe their ideas are superior to an extent that they need not heed the rightful rule of the people.  This is a test of sorts, and at present, the people of Britain are failing it.  On the one hand, the portion of the public who lost the vote three years ago are happily going along with the delays of the “Remain” MPs(Members of Parliament).  That seems natural enough, but for the foolishness of such a stance.  They are setting themselves up to be just as thoroughly overruled in similar fashion by the other side of some issue at some future point, but of course, being a traitorous lot now, they expect that “Remain” would effectively free them from any blow-back.  What they don’t understand is how they are actually laying the groundwork, and the just cause of a civil war.

The voters who won the referendum are contributing to the problem too.  Rather than standing firm, insisting that the referendum be enforced whether there’s a “deal” or not, they’ve gone soft.  If they permit the forces of “Remain” to prevail, they might just as well surrender now.  If they aren’t prepared for bloodshed as the final method by which to enforce the referendum, they are permitting the rule of law to be abolished, and they will shortly get precisely the sort of tyrannical government they deserve. In one sense, this is precisely what’s going on in the United States, and we may see a similar result.  Donald Trump was narrowly victorious in 2016, much as Brexit defeated Remain in that same year.  Ever since Trump’s election, the people of the political establishment in DC, the so-called “Uni-party,” has carried out a series of both overt and covert attacks and obstructions against his presidency, all designed to nullify the vote of the people.  In the same way, the political establishment in the UK has been out to subvert the will of the people since the vote in 2016.

There’s no doubt that we’re talking about the same adversary, in a philosophical sense.   For the last two years, the American people have let the media and the Washington DC establishment conspire to negate much of Donald Trump’s agenda.  This must end, just as the people of the UK must enforce their will.  Some “Remainers” like to point out that it was a non-binding referendum, but that ignores the fact that the government had vowed to abide by the results.  The striking part is that the Deep State in the UK also claimed Russian interference in the referendum.  The actual effectiveness of any such alleged interference, even if existent, could not have provided the margin of victory for “Brexit.”  In the same way the ruling class elites in the DC Uni-party work to implement their agenda and obstruct Trump’s the same can be seen in the UK.

It’s despicable.  I am not an advocate for violence in a civilized world, where the rule of law is observed.  Sadly, the UK government has decided to ignore and obstruct the will of the people despite former declarations to the contrary.  If the British people permit this now, they are surrendering all control over their government.  They’re effectively accepting being ruled rather than being rulers.  I view this as a warning for we Americans.  The same process is playing out.  Most Americans want the border secured, and illegal immigrants deported.  Most Americans want the drug trade impeded by virtue of less porous borders and strong law enforcement efforts.  Most Americans want their government to do their bidding by observing the existing immigration laws, but what they get instead is an effort by the same Uni-party elitists not merely to prevent the imposition of their will, but to actually further the aims of the pro-Amnesty, pro-open borders crowd.  In the same way that our will is being defied by our government, the people of the UK are watching their own government betray them. It is despicable, and then some.

Watching the people of the UK let its government disrespect the will of the people as expressed in the 2016 referendum is frightening.  It means that most people in a civilized country will refrain from enforcing their will, and that their opposition will only too happily seize the yielded ground.  If this is true, it may be true of us, and it may well represent a preview of what we will see in 2020.  The people of the UK, both those who voted to “Brexit” as well as those who voted to Remain, should insist that the government honor that referendum, and make it plain that it will come to violence should the government fail to carry out that instruction from the people.  Ultimately, it’s the only way a people can gain or maintain control of their governments: The credible threat of force if the government should abandon the rule of law and its commitments to the people.

I have long feared that the UK was a harbinger of our own future.  I have long feared that as the British people go, so shall the American people, and it has looked for a long time as though the people of Britain have chosen slavery to the elite.  It may be that the “Brexit” vote will have been the dying gasp of the UK, subsumed for all times in the cesspool of continental subjugation.  What Adolph Hitler could not manage in open war against that proud people, Angela Merkel may well have managed in her covert war against liberty.  Time will tell.  Will Britain finally fall?  Will we?  Time is running out, and so it seems, is the resolve of the British people.

Who Or What Is Qanon?

Friday, February 22nd, 2019

The left says it’s a bad conspiracy theory by and for dolts who support Donald Trump.  The media, despite defaming Qanon as a conspiracy theory for brain-addled nitwits, gives this alleged “conspiracy theory” a great deal of print coverage on the Internet, but very little coverage on-air or in actual newsprint.  Why not?  Meanwhile, the very cynical NeverTrumpers either allege(like the left) that it’s a conspiracy theory, or that it’s a psychological operation by the Trump 2020 campaign, as a means and method by which to both recruit voters and also campaign volunteers(all of whom are presumably idiots because they support Donald Trump.)  There is a growing segment of our society, however, among whom Qanon carries great credibility. For them, it’s very nearly an article of faith.  Whatever Qanon is or isn’t, it’s becoming more and more difficult for the media to ignore, with giant “Q” signs showing up at Trump rallies across the country.  I wonder why the media doesn’t ask about “Q” at Whitehouse press briefings.  I wonder why it gets so little coverage on broadcast and cable television.  What do you call a “conspiracy theory” that the mainstream media largely refuses to cover in mass distribution despite its apparent growing reach across the country and around the world? Who or what is Qanon, anyway? Is he/it going to help President Trump vanquish the Deep State?  Is he really a “they?” What may be the most shocking part of this “conspiracy theory”could well be the discovery that it’s not a theory at all.

I began researching this subject a short time ago when somebody who follows me on Twitter contacted me via private messages about it.  In retrospect, I thought at the time that I had run across this someplace or another, but hadn’t given it any attention.  I think I saw some Q signs in a crowd either during a Trump Rally or perhaps in replay coverage last Fall.  I may have raised an eyebrow, but didn’t pay it much attention at the time.  In any event, it was also mentioned in comments on this site by a long-time poster, and while the Twitter follower had piqued my interest a bit, the long-time poster got my attention.  That poster provided some links, and some back-story information, some of which I’d already uncovered in my preliminary research, but some of which was new to me.  What I discovered is that there’s a growing community of people who definitely subscribe to this developing story, whether it’s conspiracy or real, and that fact is by itself all the justification I needed to investigate in earnest.  After all, for every person who exposes his or herself on the Internet, even in approximate anonymity, you must know that there are generally a dozen or more “lurkers” who read but never engage, for various reasons.  I know this to be a fact because at the peak of this blog, back in 2011-12, as many as two thousand people would read each of my posts for every one who commented.  Most people don’t want to create an account, or log into a website, or remember another damned password.  When I see evidence that hundreds of thousands of people are in some way participating in the Qanon phenomenon, I know that the actual number of people may well measure in the millions, or perhaps even tens of millions.

When you have any phenomena in any continental civilization that reaches even one-percent of the population, that is bigtime.  Less than two percent of our population watched the last game of the NHL’s Stanley Cup, last year. Less than two-percent of our population viewed the most recent episode of Empire, in which the now-controversial Jussie Smollett is an actor.  I had never heard of Smollett, but then, I’m a poor gauge of the popular culture.  Certainly, however, a movement that seems to have generated a whole cottage industry of Youtube Channels and websites that provide constant coverage of “Q” is not to be ignored.  Tallying the top dozen or so channels’ subscribers, the total comes out to well over a million, but that’s just subscribers. Some of the individual videos have many more than one million views, and some of them accumulate these large number of views in very short periods. If a video is garnering four or five times as many views in a week as the channel has subscribers, that’s an indicator of a large lurking audience, but when you see this consistently in viewership of a Youtube channel, what it means is that there’s a large, lurking audience that prefers to remain anonymous on principle.

In considering this Q phenomenon, what I hope to do is to determine whether there’s any veracity to it.  It’s a very detailed sort of story, but like all things even remotely political, the first question I have with this “Q” phenomenon is the underlying motive driving “Q.” There may be more than one person behind this, but still, there is some highly organized motive for pushing this.  It could be genuine.  It could also be a giant disinformation campaign and distraction.  It could be a campaign operation for Donald Trump or for one of his opponents, declared or undeclared for 2020.  It could be a foreign government, including the Russians, or it could be a past nemesis playing games at the expense of Trump’s supporters.  It could even be a collection of teenagers spoofing adults all over the globe and having one Hell of a good laugh at their expense.  One of the best clues we actually get comes in the examination of motives combined with the information provided to date by “Q.”

The stated motive is along the lines of communicating with patriots about what President Trump is doing to fight the deep state, along with assisting the President in that pursuit.  That sounds comforting, and it surely appeals to all the people who in their fondest wishes would like a superhero to come save us from the Deep State and its parade of villains.  Another possible motive would be money.  Imagine the advertising revenues one could rack up on Youtube and other platforms if you could generate tens of millions of views.  Of course, this must be tempered by the fact that Youtube and other platforms seem to be actively suppressing Qanon-related content, in part by de-monetizing some Q-related videos. (Some of the channel owners have bitterly complained in some videos I’ve seen.)  On Facebook and Twitter, Q-content seems to get suppressed.  Even so, the current strategy for circumventing this is to use graphical memes to carry the message, because those are so much more difficult for automated systems to screen and censor.  One “Q-tuber” seems to use code to speak to his audience, referring to Qanon as “our favorite anon.”  In fairness, however, I must state that it seems as though most of these purveyors of all things “Q” have absolutely no apparent commercial motive to speak of, while just a few seem to be more “about the Benjamins,” but even for those, that still seems like a secondary or tertiary concern.

Setting aside the stated “good intentions,” let’s examine what, apart from the purely commercial, could be among the motives of Qanon.  If I were a President under siege by a deep state, I would like a Qanon-style operation working on my behalf, but aren’t there easier ways?  It is true that the mainstream media is highly controlled so as to prohibit Trump from having much direct interaction with the people.  The State of the Union, earlier this month, is a great example of why the media wants Trump’s direct communications with the American people strictly limited, and why they wish to create a certain image of Trump that does not comport with reality, but creates a false reality they want their viewers to absorb.  This is why the media hates Trump’s use of Twitter, but they eventually remedied this: At first, they covered almost every Tweet; then they became better at framing those Tweets in a manner that was more derogatory to the President.  Still, they can’t put words in his mouth, much as they might like to, but they can misrepresent context.  For this reason alone, it is understandable why a Qanon-like character would certainly be a desirable thing, carrying the President’s water to the public, but bypassing the media.

I also think that if this was bad actor, the President would quickly send forth emissaries to disclaim and disown Qanon.  Imagine what the Democrats and other Deep-State dimwits would do with such a thing if it could be traced back to Russia, or some other locale indicating nefarious origins and intentions.  They would crucify him, and the subsequent impeachment and Senate trial would have been over some time ago.  Hell, Mueller would have been on the case!  He would have ordered a 6am raid on Q-Central, wherever that may be.  More curiously, the press has been mostly hands-off on broadcast and cable television, and in printed versions of their publications.  Online articles are one thing, but they seem to intend to periodically  flood of the zone, whereby somebody new, only now becoming aware of the Qanon phenomenon(much like me,) would do a quick Google Search, finding that the overwhelming majority of the first one-hundred links are highly critical and all refer to it as a conspiracy theory.  Go search for “Qanon” on Google.  (Myself, for the moment, I prefer duckduckgo.com as my search engine.)  I can almost guarantee to you that the linked results account for many fewer page views than the number of total Youtube views, and this means it’s been put in place as a deterrent or smoke screen.  To what end, I cannot yet say, but this is the obvious truth.  It’s also interesting that if you look at them by date, they seem to come in waves.  All of the outlets publish something within a couple of days of one another, followed by silence, perhaps for months, and then another wave comes in.  This is classic disinformation, and the media is carrying it out with apparent zeal.

The reason this is done is fairly simple: Most search algorithms include a weighting of some sort for recency.  Search engine users generally want newer and therefore  more relevant content, in general.  If all of the big media outlets post anti-Qanon content in the same week, they will all age at approximately the same rate too, with respect to the search engines, which means people like me, who may post about Qanon just once will eventually come in as being more current/recent in the search results.  Since I’m not part of their narrative, that’s bad from the suppressors’ point of view.  Periodically, roughly every three to six months, it seems, a new litany of anti-Qanon articles is published.  The same seems to be true on Youtube.  A spate of videos appear from different media sources, all at once, and all with the same theme: Qanon is a conspiracy theory and its adherents are kook-ball, tinfoil-hat-wearing, right-wing, Trump-supporting morons.  It’s so consistent that it’s clearly orchestrated, or at a minimum, herd-directed reporting.  Again, you can search it yourselves. Go to Youtube, and you will see that if you search for “Qanon,” almost all of the top results will be from around six months ago, and it will include videos from large left-wing outfits like MSNBC, as one example.  This is the trend you will see again and again.  If Qanon is really just a silly conspiracy theory, why are all the big outlets expending so much time on it, and why with such regular synchronicity?  Perhaps more importantly, why is it now penetrating into the popular media culture space.  Just days ago, Qanon was mentioned in the popular television series NCIS New Orleans.  I don’t watch any network television, so I didn’t see this, but it’s become big news in the Q-world.  Even though here too, it was defamed as a conspiracy, the fact that it garnered any attention in a major television show acts as a gauge of the phenomenon’s growth.  Here’s the clip:

The major media uses their television shows to push narratives they want to see active in the culture.  There’s not a reader of this blog who doesn’t know that, hasn’t noticed it, and hasn’t become sick over how media has been used for at least two generations to besmirch all things conservative, and all things patriotic.  The anti-American bias is a theme that has dominated mass media in the US for a long, long time.  The thing to note is that it’s a powerful tool, and the purveyors don’t generally waste it on things of little or no importance.  Prime-time television space is literally gold, so that you don’t waste part of a scene attacking something you don’t think warrants suppression.  Remember, it’s all about marketing and positioning: Just as they want to associate conservatism with all things bad, evil, hateful, and vile in the world, so too do they seem intent on similarly besmirching Qanon and its followers as crazy conspiracists.  If there’s nothing to see here, why bother?  The answer may be as simple as this: Despite other ongoing attempts to suppress Qanon‘s growth and reach, they’ve failed, and the growth has occurred and the reach has spread. Why would they wish to suppress it?  Well, obviously, it’s because they’re Deep-State shills… or it could be a simpler commercial motive: If you’re spending your time researching Qanon, you’re not consuming as much of their bilge.

Another reason could be that they’re actually behind it.  If one wanted to watch Trump supporters jump through hoops in pursuit of their tails, this would be a fine strategy.  Hell, they already know that the intended audience is not reading, watching or listening to their garbage most of the time, so why not torment them a bit?  After all, since the audience in question considers this collection of outlets to be “FakeNews” anyway, why not give them a real taste of “FakeNews?”  Again, the problem here is that if this were the case, you would expect the Trump team to put out the word that the Qanon phenomenon was a hoax, and part of “FakeNews.” No such disclaimer seems to have been forthcoming.

Or has it? One of the things I found in my research was the claim that the United States Secret Service was prohibiting people from entering Trump rallies while wearing Q-themed outerwear.(T-shirts, etc.)  This seemed to have occurred in the wind-up to last Fall’s elections. This story was posted on the DailyBeast, a publication that is as fake as FakeNews gets, but this claim appears to have been true. It was explained away in Q-posts as the result of some deep-state operative calling in threats against the President referencing Qanon.  That’s a nifty story, and it surely would explain why the Secret Service is keeping Q-merch out of rallies, but not so fast.  The Secret Service isn’t generally staffed by fools, and I doubt whether such a thing would go on for long unless there was a serious threat or the President and his people ordered it. It’s a good deal to explain away, and just a bit too convenient. What if the real reason the Secret Service doesn’t wish to let Q-shirts into rallies is because the President doesn’t want to associate even an implicit endorsement with this Qanon phenomenon?  Or, what if the President doesn’t want the media to give coverage to Qanon because it is a political operation that is part of the President’s campaign, and another fake persona thrust into the limelight by Donald Trump might be embarrassing.  Remember John Miller?  Is he Q?

I jest, but only slightly. One of the things that has appeared in all the Q posts is this: “Q+.”  I can hear the collective groans of my readers.  Yes, when Q+ appears as the signature at the bottom of a post, (rather than the simple “Q,”) it is alleged to either be the President himself, or alternatively, posted in the presence of the President or with his knowledge/consent, depending upon whose particular interpretation you accept.  If Donald Trump can play John Miller, surely he could play Q or Q+(or both.)  In any event, I find some of the Q-posts humorous even when the subject is deadly serious, because here, Barack Obama is invariably referred-to as “Hussein.” If nothing else, it should make all but the Deep-Staters smile.

Let’s summarize some things, so far: Qanon is alleged to be some sort of intelligence officer(or collection of them) who are working with Donald Trump to vanquish the Deep State.  Qanon posts information in “drops” that convey information that at times is very specific, but also sometimes vague, and encoded.  Very often, information is provided in the form of questions that seem to lead inexorably toward a single logical result.  The poster(s) known as “Q” has freely admitted that disinformation is included in some “drops.”

You can visit the following sites for more info:

  • Qanon “drops” can be found here: https://qanon.pub/
  • They can also be found here with added features(for example, the President’s tweets, toggled by clicking a button at the top): https://qmap.pub
  • So-called “proofs” of the legitimacy of Qanon can be found here: https://www.qproofs.com

Here is a list of some popular Qanon-content Youtube channels(a.k.a. “Q-Tubers“):

There are numerous others, many, but these appeared most often in my searches for content, and I must admit humor is a winner with me, so IPOT was my favorite, based purely on delivery and production value. PrayingMedic seems much more serious and sedate. Some of them have voices I just can’t take, and while that’s surely superficial, it makes it harder for me to listen to them. Others, like Craig Mason’s Reasonable Conversation Channel, I just want to tell him to a.) shave, and b.) stop grinning. I know, I know, that’s probably tough advice to swallow coming from a guy who has a face for radio and a voice for print, but again, you just have to call the balls and strikes sometimes. Some of them certainly work harder to deliver interesting content, and some work harder at delivery, and some frankly should stop cluttering the Internet with their babble. I’m sure they’d say the same of me.  One of the quickest ways for a so-called Q-Tuber to cause me to punch out is to talk about 9/11 conspiracies, or other such well-debunked nonsense.  None of the videos I’ve viewed by the list of Q-Tubers above(so far) have mentioned outrageous 9/11 conspiracies of the sort for which Alex Jones has been the purveyor.  Apparently, there’s also a sidebar about Alex Jones and Jerome Corsi that needs to be covered at some point.

Of all the Qanon-related content I’ve encountered so far, that which drives me right to the edge is the decoding videos on Youtube where various forms of Gematria decodes are done with the most tortured logic and fantastic assumptions.  Frankly, I can take just a minute or two of those videos before I’m ready for a rubber-padded cell.  The poster(s) Q frequently exhorts readers to “Learn our comms.”  If their communications involve Gematria decoding, I’m likely out.

For those of you who, like me, are just now becoming acquainted with all of this Qanon business, I beg your indulgence as I continue my research. The material above should provide a good starting point for those of you interested in researching this subject, but if nothing else, ought to provide you a little entertainment.  I’m far from a conclusion on what I think of the veracity of this story, and my default position is to side with David Hannum, who purportedly said of PT Barnum’s Cardiff Giant hoax: “There’s a sucker born every minute.”  Still, there are some tantalizing details here that seem more than mere coincidence, and  deserve to be ruled-out by facts before dismissal.  I’ve always been a sucker for a good mystery or spy novel, so while some of this research can be tedious, at least it’s not completely dreary. I’d also note that if some of the information posted by Q is accurate, we’re even more vastly under-served by the grotesquely corrupt mainstream media than even a cynic like me had dared to imagine.

In the next installment, I will discuss so-called “Q-proofs,” which is a class of circumstances, events, images and items of news that would seem to lend more credibility to the Qanon claims. I’m still not sure what to think of this, or how seriously to take it, but for the fact that it appears a fairly significant number of Americans seem to believe some or all of this story.  It may all be a hoax, or it may be deadly serious, but I’m not yet convinced either way. I am covering this because some proportion of my readers have now requested it, and because anything that has hundreds of thousands or even millions of Americans this engaged is something that demands examination.  Other than to cast aspersions, the lamesteam media certainly isn’t investigating it very seriously.

To be continued.  In the meantime, I leave you with the latest Q-video from IPOT:

Our Cold Civil War

Thursday, February 21st, 2019

There’s no shooting yet, unless you ask Steve Scalise(R-LA.)  He might well see it differently, and justifiably so.  He was grievously wounded by a leftist madman with plans of wiping out Republicans. Even in the Cold War, there were occasional incidents that involved shootings, even though most people observed the peace, perhaps just barely.  Now we face something different in character.  It is a combination between our worst fears of the growing police state in the era of the War on Terror we’re still fighting, a new version with different motivations than the bloody Civil War we fought one century and one half ago, and the Cold War we didn’t fight, but ended, some thirty years ago.  This new form of war is different in some ways from what we’ve seen in the past.  Our nation is so thoroughly divided that it seems impossible to heal.  Violence threatens from just beneath the surface, only constrained by our lack of desire.  Like all people under the boot of oppression, we will go a long way before we will rise in rebellion.  We don’t want a fight.  We want to be left alone.  Just as in the war on terror, however, the enemy seems bent on denying us that option called peace, and they’re bringing war to us. For now, it’s cold, or at least cool.  As the rabid left continues to agitate for more from their neighbors’ wallets and souls, the temperature is rising fast. Now we find ourselves in a Cold Civil War in which the violence is just beneath the surface and an open war is just one election or one court ruling away.

Alexis de Tocqueville famously warned:

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.

We are approaching the end of the American Republic.  Congress discovered in the 1930s that it could bribe the public with the public’s money, and the bribery began in earnest in the 1960s.  Now, the bribery is everywhere.  Now the guns hide just beneath the surface.  There is always the threat that they will be pointed in your face. Somewhere, even now, some statist is contriving the next approach to coerce your rights and your property from your hands.  In fact, there are more statists coming up with ways to spend you into oblivion than there is money to be expropriated and spent.  The Green New Deal is one example, but it’s only the most recent.  Understand that they are willing to use violence.  Let them hem and haw all they will, and let them attempt to conceal their malign plans, but do not let them go without demanding of them: “Where do you get the right to steal from others at gunpoint?”  Do not allow them to hide the gun.  That’s why they immediately shift to nonsense about “social contracts” and so on.  They want to pretend you’ve volunteered to be robbed.

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re in a cold civil war that is just one bad incident or one miserable election from going hot.  Some will moan that I’m far too pessimistic about it, but let’s be blunt, shall we?  Look around.  It’s so bad that we now have Americans turning to theories that may or may not have any basis in reality for belief.  The left has its collusion hoax, while Trumpsters have something I’m investigating called “Qanon.” I know the left’s Russia/Collusion story is a thoroughgoing hoax, but only recently, having encountered advocates of this Qanon business, I’m still investigating.  For all I know, Qanon is a political operation of Trump’s to keep his base in line. (Don’t email me to complain, please, as I’m still investigating this, and this is one of a number of theories floating around the Internet about Qanon.) Still, let us imagine Qanon is substantially real, whatever that means. How far have we fallen that such a character (or collection of them) would constitute the only hope of salvation for America?  How thoroughly bankrupt have we become?  How corrupted is our government and those who not only staff it, but also who choose them?  Why are we looking for a hero rather than rising to be heroes ourselves?  We’ve sat by and let them steal our country, and now we wish for some sort of superman with a bold “Q” emblazoned on his chest to save us from our own intransigence?

We let the statists steal our schools and universities.  Having monopolized these platforms, they stole our children and grandchildren away, now to be used as fodder in the war against us.  We let them control all of our media because we have refused to bankrupt their outlets by simple disuse.  That’s all it would take.  That’s all we would need.  Just stop using them.  Turn off their television channels.  We hang onto their platforms(I’m as guilty as any) like Facebook and Twitter and Youtube because… they’re convenient!   The problem is that they’ve turned it all against us.  Where are we now? How can we claim to support the constitutional republic while we join these villains in a “civil” relationship comprised of their guns and their threats, but only our submission? What sort of mixed signals do we send to our progeny? On the one hand, we talk to them about the evils of the popular culture, but on the other, we partake of it.

It’s awful.  The real problem may be that the left is now pushing so hard that people who are only barely anchored to reality may begin to do completely unhinged things, and some may ultimately involve actual shootings.  First, think of this fool Jussie Smollett, who created a hoax hate attack, all so he could defame Trump and his supporters, but perhaps also to help Kamala Harris(D-CA) and Cory Booker(D-NJ) push their anti-lynching bill through the Senate last week.  Then, on Wednesday, an apparently demented US Coastguard Lieutenant was arrested on terrorism charges in Maryland.  Christopher Paul Hasson, of Silver Springs, was planning to kill a number of leftist federal office-holders in particular, but apparently had a more generalized hate on for all of humanity.

If you view these things as I do, it’s becoming obvious that America is being pushed to the brink.  We are still in a “cold” phase of this second civil war, but that won’t last too much longer.  People from both sides of the divide are now openly talking about this as an eventuality. Warfare is much uglier than most can imagine, but that’s part of the reason to worry:  Too many Americans think warfare is clean and easy, because too few Americans have served in the Armed Forces.  Too few among us have borne the real burdens and costs of war.  War, civil or otherwise, must never be treated as the first or best alternative, and those who seem to place it on the table as a first or best option should be watched closely.  Sometimes, wars must be fought, but never should any person contemplate war too easily or too frivolously.

Despite what prudence tells us, there are those who claim to relish a civil war, and would prefer it become “hot.” This is a danger to be avoided at all costs but one.  We must de-escalate this situation by whatever rational means still remain to us.  If we fail, this situation may break down in a tragic way.  I haven’t been an advocate for liberty and freedom just to see it pissed-away by hot-headed numbskulls on both sides of the ideological divide.  There are too many outside provocateurs, and I worry that what Russia was unable to accomplish by colluding with Obama and Clinton, they now intend to accomplish by pitting one side against the other.  Don’t underestimate that problem.  The world is full of enemies who would be thrilled to see the US consumed and effectively neutered by a domestic civil war.  This is a time of intense danger, friends, and I fear for our republic as never before.

Editor’s Note: It came to my attention after the publication of this post that Mr. L had posted a video with a similar theme and title last summer.  First, I apologize to Mr. L, because it had not been my intention to plagiarize his work, either in title or in content.  As he says so frequently, we are like brothers from different mothers, inasmuch as we frequently agree on many things, though we may arrive at our conclusions by somewhat different paths, or express them in different ways.  Due to that, things like this can happen, but unlike some others on the Internet, I go out of my way to avoid it, even inadvertently.  Second, let me commend that most excellent video, The USA Cold Civil War, and present it here:

Some Unsolicited Advice for @POTUS: No Deal!

Time to win!

I realize that much of the news I see in popular media is fakery and propaganda.  I don’t trust media outlets because it seems as though none of them can restrain their intense desire to shape events, policies, and the nation at large.  They all have an agenda. All of them.  Even me.  My agenda is a rather less ambitious thing.  I don’t want fame or money or prestige.  All I want is my country back.  I want what so many millions of others who voted for President Trump wanted when they donned their Make America Great Again caps: I can’t buy politicians, and even if I had the wherewithal to do so, I’m fairly certain I’d have instant buyer’s remorse.  Politicians are a shady lot, which is why so many Americans voted for Donald J. Trump: They expected something different.  They expected that for all of his imperfections, his personal foibles and so on, that he would stubbornly do what he promised to do.  If it were mine to do, I’d tell President Trump that I’m glad he’s kept the promises he has, but that I’ve also seen a few that were quietly broken.  I’m happy that he fights where others would surrender, but I’d also tell him that there are some fights he must still undertake on our behalf.  Lastly, I’d tell him to begin firing almost all of his staff, particularly all those who are fixtures in Washington DC.  He doesn’t need them, and he shouldn’t listen to them, because they aren’t serving him well, never mind the country at large.  Mr. President, the people in Washington DC didn’t vote for you in 2016, and there’s virtually no chance they will in 2020.  If you hope for re-election, you must stop listening to people who hate you, and decline their ridiculous ‘deal.’ Declare an emergency, build the wall, and shut down the government until Democrats and DC-beltway Republicans squeal.

I know it’s fashionable among politicians these days to remain in campaign mode on a perpetual basis, but I believe that’s a mistake in this instance.  President Trump is very good at campaign mode.  Still, I think he’s worked that angle well for the moment at hand: If the DC-insiders’ crowd attempt now to interfere and obstruct, both Democrats and Republicans, President Trump will have the golden opportunity to make plain to the whole country, most importantly that seventy-two percent(!) who agreed with his immigration prescription post-State of the Union. He can slay these DC dragons as a warrior.  As Mr. Trump can surely explain, sometimes the answer must be simply “No Deal!”  How often does a politician take the side of the American people?  How often do they sell us out?

Mr. President, on the slim possibility that some tiny bit of the sentiment herein contained can waft its way to you, I urge you: Ditch the deal.  If the DC Republicans won’t assist you, be prepared to ditch them too.  You can go on a tour of the country having rallies in the home states of the obstructionists in both parties.  Start with Kentucky.  Tell the whole truth. The Democrats are despicable and some of the Republicans are just as bad.  Tell the American people what goes on.  We’re adults.  We can handle a little sausage-making messiness.  We’re Americans!  Just hit us between the eyes with the truth, but whatever you do, don’t surrender to the rotten SOBs in Washington DC.  They’re like vultures, circling you, hoping you’ll fall to your knees.  Don’t do that for them.  Don’t do that to us!

Mr. President, I have heard you say that we will never surrender and never give in.  This is your first-term moment to make it or break it, and either take re-election in triumph or bow out in defeat.  You have them where you want them.  For once, we who have waited for this moment, the moment when victory is in sight, let us win.  Take up the standard and charge!  We’re with you!

It’s time to defeat them, Mr. President!  Their Russia hoax is drawing to a close.  Their lies to the American people cannot overwhelm the true message you gave to the people on the occasion of the State of the Union.  It’s time to close it down again if need be.   It’s time to shove this down their throats.  We’re with you, Mr. President.  We all know their offer is a farce.  It’s all intended to screw you and us.  They hate us equally, you know:  We for electing you, and you for not being one of them.

For once, we seem to have a courageous President who is with us for a change.  No crappy deals, Mr. President!  Not now.  We’ve fought too hard.  You’ve scrapped for every inch.  You’ve led us to the brink.  We’re not afraid.  They are.  We’re not quitting.  They are.  We’re not buckling.  They will.  It’s time to demolish them, Mr. President, and we’re here to help you. It’s time to win, Mr. President!

Betrayal: How American Youth Have Been Abandoned

Tuesday, February 12th, 2019

Last week, a collection of Democrats introduced something they’ve dubbed the Green New Deal.  Sounding innocuous to those who have accepted the original “New Deal” of FDR, it was assumed that this legislation would merely provide some updates(as if the original wasn’t horrendous enough.)  Instead, it contains provisions that responsible adults would call “preposterous,” or “fanciful,” or even “maniacal.”  Despite this fact, many of the would-be Democrat contenders for the presidency in 2020 raced out to latch onto it, endorsing it explicitly, or at the very least, endorsing most or all of its alleged aims.  What’s most amazing to me is how thoroughly we have betrayed our youth by letting these sorts of things get so out of hand.  The “Green New Deal” isn’t flawed, or farcical, or foolish.  It is the ultimate expression of statism’s true goals.  If implemented, it would accomplish the one thing that the radical left has wanted to enact for more than a century, but it is also the one thing the American people have been too innocently naive to believe the left could truly want: It is the legislation that would make human life in the United States impossible to live, and its chief public advocates are our young.  None will suffer more for the attainment of this green nightmare, but having been thoroughly betrayed, they’re too foolishly naive to know it.

This set of fiendish notions isn’t a collection of naive ideas propagated by childish intellectual rejects.  This is a collection of ideas that has been intentionally crafted so as to appear too foolishly farcical to ever take seriously, but every word of it is what they actually intend. Every word. Its original version was so honest that on Friday, it had been withdrawn, to be replaced by a slightly watered-down version, but the truth is that if they ever achieve sufficient power to enact such a law, they will, and they will do it because they hate human life, they have been educated to hate America, and they intend to destroy it in order to punish Americans.

This is not a joke.  None of this is tongue-in-cheek.  These people hate you.  They’re so thoroughly hateful that they’re willing to commit suicide on a societal scale in order to punish you for the ills they believe exist.  The saddest part of this is that all the things they’ve been indoctrinated to believe in our public schools and universities is absolute nonsense.  We turned education over to the worst nut-jobs in academia two generations ago, and they have built a kingdom in which this kind of garbage is considered normal.  If you send your children to a public school, since at least 1980, after the creation of the Federal Department of Education, your children have been affected.  They’ve been exposed.  Unless you spent an hour or more deprogramming them faithfully every evening, or simply withdrew them from public schools, there’s no chance that they have avoided being propagandized to their own detriment to some extent.

If the Green New Deal is ridiculous, then the Frequently Asked Questions document that accompanied it is the height of villainy, although some will contend that it seems like a college prank. Here are both the documents, from the NPR page linked above, placed here for your convenience:

Among other things, this FAQ outlines more of their intentions, including “building on” FDR’s “Second Bill of Rights” (effectively, the communist agenda for America), by guaranteeing the following:

  • A job with a family-sustaining wage, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security
  • High-quality education, including higher education and trade schools
  • Clean air and water and access to nature
  • Healthy food
  • High-quality health care
  • Safe, affordable, adequate housing
  • Economic environment free of monopolies
  • Economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work

That’s right, you read it correctly: “for all who are unable or unwilling to work.”  According to Governor Palin’s website, one of the Democrats who introduced this garbage has taken down the FAQ due to the “unwilling” business. Too much honesty isn’t a good thing, if you’re a leftist.

We are already largely a socialistic country, despite President Trump’s recent assurances that the USA will avoid that fate.  We print money like a socialist country, we monetize our debts like a socialist country, and we provide ludicrous welfare benefits and commodities just like a socialist country.  In fact, the only things necessary to convert the USA to a complete communist slave-pit like the USSR would be to compel labor at the point of governments’ guns. You might contend that we still have freedom of movement. I would respond simply by pointing to the pair of documents linked above, wherein you will find that their intention is to completely eliminate air travel and 99% of privately-owned cars and trucks within a decade.  How’s your freedom of movement looking if that tidbit is implemented? You’re under surveillance every moment of your day.  Your smart-phones microphones are actively monitoring(and at times recording) whatever you do.  Your other “smart” devices are spying on you as well.  The companies that collect this data sell that data to others for the purpose of advertising, and they also sell it to government.  In many cases, government collects it directly, also.  What part of an infernal communistic slave-state doesn’t yet exist in America?  You are taxed on your labors to pay for the lack of labor on the part of others. You provide food, clothing, housing, commodities, utilities, transportation, and healthcare to people who cannot do so for themselves, but much more frequently, who are unwilling to do so themselves.

Our young have been propagandized into thinking this is normal, right, and proper.  They’ve been taught that it’s moral.

Our young people have been betrayed.  They haven’t been taught the difference between right and wrong in the way we were taught, so that the resulting  vacuum has drawn in an ethos that is in direct conflict with traditional American values.  They have been deprived, all too often, of the simple but necessary skill of critical thinking.  The list of things to be guaranteed by the “Green New Deal” are preposterous, of course, but they don’t generally see them as such; what is self-evident to you and I about the absurdity of guaranteeing “Clean air and water and access to nature” doesn’t strike them as unusual at all. They don’t see anything wrong with it because they’ve don’t know why nobody can guarantee any such thing. “Economic security for all…” is something they think they can mandate.  They don’t understand that no government on Earth can guarantee such a thing in the long run, which of course means they can’t guarantee it at all. Even the idea of “guaranteeing” a “high quality education” should be as dubious as anything else on the list, because as you and I are well aware, we can send students to all the best schools with all the best faculty but none of that can overcome the student’s unwillingness to learn.  Anybody who can permit themselves to believe this list of preposterous, foolish, and even undesirable “guarantees” hasn’t the ability to evaluate even the utility of any of this.

Ladies and gentlemen, we can laugh and mock the poor fools who believe this “Green New Deal,” but that misses the point. The fact that this foolishness is so wildly obnoxious to the entire body of human knowledge gained since the enlightenment makes no difference to a tribe of primitives who don’t know or care about the enlightenment in the first instance.  Far too many of our young have been left in a state of feral, atavistic savages, among whom logic and syllogisms have no meaning and no weight.  I have a hard time blaming them, knowing the sort of monsters to whom their minds have been too frequently entrusted.  What strikes me is that this had been described all too well five decades ago:

If men have grasped some faint glimmer of respect for individual rights in their private dealings with one another, that glimmer vanishes when they turn to public issues – and what leaps into the political arena is a caveman who can’t conceive of any reason why the tribe may not bash in the skull of any individual if it so desires. – The Objectivist Ethics in The Virtue of Selfishness – Ayn Rand

The situation in which we find our nation is far more dangerous than most dare whisper.  We have young people who have been preyed-upon by a statist fifth column that has converted them into the instrument of their own, and our own destruction.  The children who will bring us this “Green New Deal” are the tools, the instruments who will be made into a terrible weapon against us, just as was done in other places and times throughout history, particularly in the twentieth century.  This “Green New Deal” is evidence of our moral abandonment of them.  It’s our job to reclaim them if we can.  If we lose them permanently, we may well discover that we’ve likewise lost ourselves.

Supine GOP Sabotaging President

Who’s Watching His Back?

One of the things I have learned to hold in utter contempt is the slack-jawed, sycophantic, preternatural losers in the Republican Party.  In the main, they populate Washington DC, whether in government, media, or the political consultancy, although one can find them in state capitals around the country too.  These people don’t seek victory so much as extensions to their hold on influence and power.  In one sense, they’re part of the deep state, or at least functionally serve as an extension of it, but what one learns about them by careful observation is that they don’t care to win, at least not in the way their outside-the-beltway Republican brethren would understand victory.  When Trump talks about “winning,” all they see is danger, and wherever they see controversy, they are sure to seek cover elsewhere.  They’re not of us.  They’re weak.  They’re spineless.  They’re sneaky and vindictive.  They see President Trump’s State of the Union address as further evidence that the man is un-presidential.  Like the Democrats, they believe that Donald J. Trump must go.  From their perspective, flat on their backs and looking up at the world of real humans, there’s no reason to fight.  They think it’s nice down there on the ground, slithering around on their bellies while begging for crumbs from the globalist left.  To maintain their positions as deep-state bottom-feeders, they’re only to happy to participate in the sabotage of this President.

I was listening to the excellent but unusual opening to the most recent segment published by my friend Mr. L, of Mr. L’s Tavern.(You really should listen, as it’s a hoot).  I laughed heartily at the depiction.  What he portrayed in his opening is something I know all too well.  It’s almost precisely the same interaction I’ve had when I receive calls from the NRCC or Senator Cornyn’s campaign, or the campaign of my own House representative, or other political fund-raising efforts of the GOP and its political affiliates. These days, some of them use robo-call recordings that are fairly sophisticated, and it’s easy to be fooled by the best of them.  Occasionally, they’re still using actual human callers, for whom I always feel pity.  Imagine having to call to beg for contributions for my own Senator, John Cornyn(R-TX.) Imagine having to read a script laden with boilerplate schlock that is designed to offend as few people as possible, while saying precisely nothing of worth, and simultaneously promising to do everything and nothing for everyone and no-one all in three or four sentences.  They don’t have any but canned responses, and they can’t really answer for the party machine that pays for their service, but they’re obliged to listen to almost anything you might say so long as you refrain from terroristic threats or outright verbal abuse.  Whether anything you say is ever passed back to their masters remains doubtful, because I have been unable to convince them to cease.

Yes, yes, I strongly tend to vote for Republicans, and yes, I show up on election days.  Yes, I regularly give to political campaigns and politically-aligned causes in small sums that I can afford, (which isn’t much,) but none of this implies that I’m going to accept the GOP sing-song blindly, or that I’m going to donate to a party that undermines me, or the agenda items of our President when I happen to support them.  Mr. L’s point is not lost on me, because that’s what these jerks in Washington DC actually expect: I should remain supine as they walk over me just as they do for the Democrats!  Like Mr. L, I have no interest in funding a party that does not share my values.  These DC Republicans actually oppose a wall, and they oppose immigration enforcement, so that anything they say to the contrary is just part of the show they perform as the means by which they intend to bilk you and me of our cash.

It’s precisely as though when we expressed that we want Trump, and we want him because he promised to secure our border and build a wall, even if it means declaring an emergency, they preferred to believe that we hadn’t meant it.  Their beltway bubble gas-lighters have told them that we, you and I, out in “flyover country” are just having a temper tantrum, just like back in 2010.  Certainly, you remember the Tea Party.  Just as in those days, they don’t believe we’re serious, and don’t believe we can’t be steered onto some other course.  They belittle us and bully us, but still expect us to pay for it all.  Can you imagine the unmitigated chutzpah it must take to believe such a thing?  In their view, we should pay for the party and volunteer for the role of the butt of all the jokes at the party besides.  All this they expect, so that perhaps their DC masters will occasionally grant the favor of letting them to rise to their knees.

Meanwhile, our president is fighting like Hell to uphold his promises.  Some have said “well, he’s only trying to uphold his promises for the naked politics of the matter, but he doesn’t really care about a wall.”  When people make statements like this, do they believe they’re going to obtain some sort of Kreskin-like command of their audience’s attention?  Do they believe they’re saying something unknown to their audiences?  Of course it’s politics.  Whether Donald J. Trump believes in a wall himself or not, even if it’s “only naked politics” that drives him to keep his promise, I say “GOOD! GREAT! FINALLY!

One of the biggest scams in politics is the presupposition that the best and most mature politicians are those who will disregard the will of the electorate, ignoring the people who elected them in order to carry out the policy preferences of… who, exactly?  The wizards of smart?  The brilliance of lobbyists?  The interests of the global corporatists, or the corporate globalists?  Media moguls or their sock-puppets?  You see, it’s always portrayed as the evidence of wisdom, and a sign of maturity, and we, who elected the politician, we are supposed to simply nod in affirmation and agree: “Yes, we voted for this politician to do something completely different, but now that you’ve shown us the error of our preferences, we will continue to support this politician.”  Really?  When people try to convince you of this thesis, you’re right to reject them as con-artists.

In Washington DC now, they’re back on their heels for a few moments.  President Trump’s State of the Union address was well-received throughout the country with as many as eight in ten viewers approving his address, and as many as three of four approving of his immigration ideas.  That’s a stunningly good performance, but the media mavens were quick to remind that these were only “flash polls” taken in the immediate reaction to the speech, (and therefore will not represent the longer-term view of the people after the media has had a week or two in which to propagandize them into a different impression.)

This is an unpleasant circumstance for the DC-beltway crowd and their globalist masters.  They aren’t accustomed to being told “no,” and particularly not by the voters, for Heaven’s sake.  They are out to wreck Trump, and this is why as Mr. L pointed out, some forty-odd Republicans quit the House last Fall: They don’t support his presidency, and they’re not going to be participants in furthering his(meaning our) agenda.  Why would a relatively young man like Paul Ryan give up the House Speaker-ship so easily?  Why would the collection of them, nearly all of them RINOs, simply retire?  They also announced their retirements relatively late in the cycle, with the clear intent of making it more difficult on Republicans who might seek to fill their vacant seats.

In the Senate, the sabotage will be more direct.  This chamber-full of gargantuan egos is populated by people who think the sun rises and sets at their bidding.  People like Mitt Romney(R-UT,) embittered over his 2012 defeat, seems intent on replacing John McCain as a perpetual thorn in Donald Trump’s side, and just like the deceased Arizona senator, a constant pain in our asses to boot.  When you add the list of usual suspects in the GOP to the Democrat Caucus of Doom, it’s easy to see how Majority Leader Mitch McConnell(R-KY-the state, not the lubricant) will be able to torment the President any time he wishes.

As Mr. L also pointed out, since the State of the Union, suddenly, there has erupted talk of a “deal.” In the deal there will exist numerous poison pills that the surrender caucus of the GOP in both Houses will happily accept, knowing that they will damage President Trump with his base.  There will be DACA extensions, and Amnesty, and and every conceivable manner of betrayal of his base, desperately hoping to tempt the president to accept the deal, while simultaneously wishing to bash him over the head with it if he signs.  What they cannot permit is that he would declare an emergency, fully unleashing the power of Article II of our Constitution and securing our border with guards and barriers(or walls) and electronics and soldiers and alligator-infested moats along with the Army and the Border Patrol and ICE carrying out interior enforcement.  They’re most terrified that he’ll actually secure the border and then follow up with a deportation binge.  That won’t be permitted, if the supine GOP saboteurs have anything at all to do with it.

I’m afraid that Mr. L’s over-arching point is quite correct: These corrupt bastards who run the GOP in Washington DC don’t want Trump(or us) to win. They’re sick of him winning, and the reaction to his State of the Union address suggests that he’s made his case to the American people.  This is why suddenly, they’re talking deal, but stubbornly, they are going to insist on poisoning it.  The President should not accept such a deal, because it’s precisely the sort of failure we’ll understand as a betrayal.  I think President Trump understands this, and if my suspicion is correct, they’re going to offer some ridiculous deal, knowing that it will wreck him.  If they do, he must remain resolved, explain to the American people why the deal is worthless, and then declare the emergency to build the wall and secure our nation. At that point, he should take on the chore with a ruthless zeal, too.  It’s the only thing the weasels in Washington DC understand, and it’s the only way our interests, that three in four people who agreed on Tuesday with his immigration prescriptions are ever going to get it done their way.

I can only offer the following unsolicited advice for our Commander-in-Chief:  Mr. President, let them make their phony offer, and then shove it up their… noses with an emergency declaration of your own.  You have the power for extraordinary circumstances, but if the ongoing and perpetual reordering of our nation by invasion isn’t an emergency, I can’t conceive of what is.  Do it.  Declare that emergency to build the wall and virtually grab those saboteurs by their…whatevers.  It’s the reason we elected you.

The Devils Among Us

Michelangelo’s Last Judgment

Those who deny the existence of Satan ought to sit up and take notice.  We’d thought that we had purged the worst evils of the world by demolishing Nazi Germany, by out-producing the Soviet regime, and out-lasting Mao and trading with his ideological heirs.  We believed that we had overcome the ugliest organized examples of human evil among men, and not without some justification.  Think of the tens of millions of people mercilessly butchered in Europe, Asia, an in other Hell-holes around the globe, realizing that the United States of America had been instrumental in putting an end to it in many cases.  Then consider that in 1973, we permitted our highest court to open the Pandora’s Box of state-sanctioned infanticide, casting aside our long record of being the nation of life and growth through most of our history.  Now, the devils have arisen again, but this time, in our own nation, where like in NAZI Germany, or in pre-Civil War America, they have taken refuge behind the shield of our law. We are permitting them to shelter there, in pretense of justice, and in mockery of our greatest principles.  Even the head of one of the world’s largest religions has abandoned the innocent in favor of the guilty.  There they hide, in plain sight, now proposing even the outright murder of children, just as dismissively as taking out the trash.  Will none rise up against this?  Will no-one proclaim “stop?” I thought we had collectively vowed “never again!” Was it all talk?  The implied confessions of our silence reveal our acceptance of the devils among us.

Abortion has been legal in the United States since the despicable, illogical 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade.  Since that time, tens of millions of babies have been “aborted,” a.k.a. killed or still more accurately, murdered.  They’ve been disposed in landfills, carved-up for medical experimentation and harvested for various tissues.  They’ve been murdered in silence, while the lives of their mothers have been changed, their psyches wrecked by guilt and loss, or hardened into radicalized purveyors of villainy.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the truth of abortion is terrifying, and the recently-enacted New York law could have been considered to have been the pinnacle of such monstrosities, that is, until we heard from the Governor of Virginia:

This governor is a physician! This monster wants to be in control of your healthcare, and frankly, your lives.  This devil wants to make an abortion-surviving infant to be made comfortable while a conversation is had between mother and doctor over what comes next, which is to let the child die, or to kill it outright, a la Kermit Gosnell.  When you consider the implications of this entire situation, it’s clear that our civilization is in free-fall.  Nothing can excuse this.

It’s difficult to write about this subject, not because I’m a father and grandfather, but simply because I am human, and I love life as the precious, unique, and wondrous gift it is, and should be.  Last Saturday, we had the miserable chore of euthanizing an old gelding we had bred and raised.  As the veterinarian administered that lethal dose to relieve the horse’s suffering, I held his head in my arms, and sobbed as he slipped away.  We had nearly lost him as a wee foal, to an accident involving a fence.  We had nursed him back from that nearly tragic early ending, all those years ago, never questioning for a moment that we would undertake all we could to preserve his life, and to restore his health and function to the degree possible.  He had a happy and easy life for a horse, for all the years between then and now, but when the end had become inevitable, and suffering was the only state now left to the animal, we euthanized him.  That’s our ethos regarding the lives of animals on our farm, and while some aspects of the farm can desensitize you to some things, perhaps one of my personal weaknesses is that I cannot easily, intemperately, or too quickly dispose of life.  It’s not that I’m squeamish, but that life is an irreplaceable commodity that once ended, is gone forever, never to be retrieved.  Even in the days since, I have thought of him and wondered if there had been something more we might have done.  I’ll ponder that question interminably, as I always do.  This is not so in the world of the abortionists.

We have a thoroughly broken culture in which humans are disposed with much less regard and care than farm animals raised for food.  We desensitize our young to the whole concept, and while we let the animal rights nuts preach to our children about the “evils of meat,” we do not arm our children with the knowledge of the evils of abortion.  We do not tell them the truth.  We do not tell them about the long train of wrong choices that lead one to that decision. Many of us pretend to ourselves that it doesn’t exist, or doesn’t matter; we paint over it in our minds’ eyes with some vague notion of “un-viable tissue masses,” and lumps of cells; we change the subject with indignant talk about women’s rights; many of us will do anything and say anything to avoid the truth.

If the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are a fact of “Nature and Nature’s God,” as our founders correctly asserted, but not some privilege granted by the favor of the state, or the alleged “Divine Right” of some king, then there can be no legal wiggle-room in which to rationalize the deprivation of that liberty among the unborn.  It is the height of arrogance to steal life from another human, without the most severe justifications of self-defense and justice.  There is no manner in which you can argue in favor of a right to kill merely for one’s convenience that does not fail the test of logic.  If that growing baby within a woman’s womb has no claim to a right to life, then neither does she, nor the man who fathered that child, nor the doctor who performs the abortion, nor the legislator or judge who had pompously legalized that procedure. (In New York, the new law of that sick state now permits people other than physicians to perform abortions.)  There can be no way to rationalize it that does not simultaneously sanction the murder of any other human for the convenience of some other, be that other an individual or the state.

The truth about abortion is and has always been that it’s murder.  It’s never justifiable but in some hyper-rare event of self-defense, where the continuance of a pregnancy is literally a threat to the mother’s life.  That’s almost never true.  Instead, what we have is a rationalization for murder dressed in the clothing of the defense of one’s convenience.  We have a justification propped up in the mannequin of false claims of liberty.  We have legal cover constructed so as to feign innocence where there had been little other than guilt, all around.  We have the abolition of responsibility.  We have the removal of blame because, after all, it’s legal, isn’t it?  What “blame?” It’s her right, isn’t it?

What’s been done in New York is an abomination.  I am officially and forever boycotting the state of my birth.  I will never return there, despite all the people and places there I still love.  I hate to surrender it, and in so doing, bid it farewell, but it is dead to me now.  There are too many devils there now, who walk freely and openly in the streets, cheered by crowds, and fêted in media.  I would rescue New York if I could, but none can now rescue her as they have finally murdered the blindfolded lady with the neglected scales and long-dulled sword, portrayed on that state’s great seal.  They long ago vanquished Liberty, the other lady on that seal, as they have nullified the motto with which that icon is adorned.  “Ever upward” has become a long slide downward and into the abyss.  Too long had that state been dominated by the city that shares its name.  Now, it shall finally share its fate in infamy.  What the hijackers could not steal from the people of New York, the people of New York have finally surrendered.  It is a place of devils now.

As America begins to shift from decline to free-fall, in foolish imitation of the worst wreckage on the globe, and as we become the worst of what we’ve been and against what we have fought, it’s right to ask if it’s time to put-down this dying leviathan.  What lies ahead seems now to be only wreckage, pain, and the devils who thrive in it.  I have been proud of my country for all its great achievements, and for overcoming its ills of the past, but at long last it seems that we have collectively decided it must now end.  Ours is a nation in moral and ethical retreat.  This is how the beginning of the end of a civilization always appears, despite the technological mask we enjoy.  I no longer dare hope that it’s not so.  If there is any chance at some reversal, it must come soon, or it will not come at all, and it must be we, not others in our stead, who will bring it into being.  The devils among us know we’re weak and apparently beaten, but they won’t relent until the last of us have surrendered in shame.

Sarah Palin Connects Critical Dots

Thursday, January 24th, 2019

It’s been a long while since I’ve written anything about my very favorite former governor.  Part of me has always wistfully hoped for the day that she would return to public service because her spirit and her honesty, and her faithful servant’s heart is so often absent in our country’s capital and Capitol.  I think about all the days since 2008 when she was first introduced to the country at large, and I remember how she’s been defamed, and how hard some of us worked to fight back against it.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been eight years since I posted my first little blog post.  It seems at once like only yesterday, but also as though it had been a million years ago.  Back in 2015, she was the first significant person to endorse Donald Trump’s candidacy for president.

On Wednesday, on her own site, she published an article titled Rejection is Protection, about the ugly side of politics, in which she linked to a podcast by Dan Bongino, one of my own favorites in recent times.  Specifically, she pointed to that segment of Wednesday’s show(#900) in which Bongino explains how the same trap that was sprung on Trump’s campaign had also been laid for McCain, by the same people, but with at least one significant difference: The Bush administration warned McCain of the dangers; the Obama administration issued no such warning to Trump.  Ladies and gentlemen, this entire “Russian Collusion” scandal is a sickening scheme.  It’s not even an original scheme. It’s a re-run of a scheme run at least once before, in 2008, by the same people.  Governor Palin was right to connect these dots.  She was there in 2008, and in 2016, some of the same characters who betrayed the country in 2008 were back for another round in 2016. If you haven’t read this short piece, or listened to Bongino’s podcast lately, you may wish to catch up.

Governor Palin goes on to explain some truths about 2015-16 that most of us will have guessed at, or suspected, but have never known with precision.  It’s amazing how certain instincts we have about the establishment always turn out to be pretty near to “on the money.”  Have you any doubt about whether that den of vipers would betray their own mothers for a buck?

Some have leapt to the conclusion that Governor Palin is saying that “Donald Trump stabbed her in the back,” or some such thing, but that’s not what I understood from her post.  Instead, I understood her to say that the same people who managed to hamper her efforts in 2008 were able to worm their way into the thick of things again in 2016.  Of the situation, she wrote:

Eight years later, some of the same warped ‘08 uni-partiers who’d engaged in the politics of personal destruction latched on to Donald Trump’s candidacy. To America’s detriment, they still whisper in his ear.

It’s quite disappointing to watch.

Disappointing indeed! What has always been a point of curiosity is the question: “Who brought Paul Manafort into Trump’s orbit?”  Manafort was also brought into McCain’s orbit in 2008, and this is important precisely because of what Bongino outlines in Wednesday’s podcast: The whole “Russia Collusion” myth was first aimed at McCain in 2008, with very nearly the same cast of characters involved.  One article, appearing on Circa, explains that Manafort managed to worm his way into proximity of McCain due to Manafort’s connections with Rick Davis, while TheAtlantic reported that Manafort managed to get himself hired onto the Trump campaign through his relationship with long-time Trump confidante Tom Barrack.  While I consider TheAtlantic a dubious source, but I’ve been able to find many other sources for the linkage from Barrack to Trump.  All of this is important to understanding the entire “Russia-Collusion” hoax, because it appears that the people who had been part of serious collusion were all tied to the Clinton universe.  This includes Michael Cohen, by the way.  In fact, over and over again, what one can discover is that a large number of the people who are being prosecuted in association with the Mueller probe seem to have this odd tendency to have been in the orbits of both Clinton and the Trump 2016 campaign, but increasingly, some have also surfaced in the vicinity of John McCain’s 2008 campaign.

Bongino doesn’t mince words on the subject.  He asserts that the same script was used in 2008 against McCain, the only difference being that it was stopped when Bush administration officials warned McCain.  McCain steered clear of Manafort.  Trump did not, but why not?  Is it beecause the Obama administration did not give Trump the same sort of warning McCain had received?  It seems so.  Dan continued his explanation of the scandalous details on Thursday:

What’s even more interesting is that back in 1996 and 1997, Manafort was inserted into the orbit of another Republican nominee: Bob Dole.  Bob Dole wound up lobbying for Oleg Deripaska as this 2003 lobbyist registration form shows.  Once again, here we find a tie to Manafort, who managed the convention for Dole.  Roger Stone was also in the Dole orbit.  One of the things we know about Paul Manafort is that he was involved in the effort to secure Paul Ryan’s endorsement in 2016.  The closer one looks, the more connections one can find, including this: Dole ran against Bill; McCain ran against Obama who narrowly defeated Hillary for the nomination; Trump ran against Hillary, who had been expected to win easily.  It’s almost as though every time a Clinton is involved in a Presidential election, Manafort(and others) are found to be inserted into the Republican nominees’ campaigns.

Folks, something stinks here, and it reminds me of something else that happened years ago.  I’ve known for a long time, since the mid-1990s, that the Clintons had infected Washington DC and everything revolving around them with their influence peddling and quid pro quo form of operation, but it strikes me that their machinery has been deeper and more stealthy than even the more cynical observers might realize.  In some ways, the Clintons took control of the Deep State in the 1990s, and since then, they’ve never fully relinquished control.  When one remembers that since 1993, they’ve never been far from the reins of power, it’s easy to imagine that they have wielded undue influence throughout the American political scene right along.

Sarah Palin has properly pointed out that some of the people now in Trump’s general orbit were around during McCain’s campaign, and I think it’s important to bear this in mind.  In and around Washington DC is that the same old crowd of apparatchiks born of the political machinery of state, hanging around, always working to influence policy, whoever may be in power at the time.  For somebody like Trump, who doesn’t know as many of the ins and outs of DC as others who are more fully initiated in the dirty politics that gravitate toward the power of state, it would be easy enough to fall prey.  Considering all of this, it’s easy enough to see that the same scandal could be recycled, using the same general cast of characters, with Trump as the new target in the Clinton-Russia-Collusion Scandal.

What’s more disturbing is what Governor Palin implies when she wrote: “…they still whisper in his ear.”  Think of it.  Some of the people who made this entire fiasco possible still have Trump’s ear.  They still influence what goes on in our nation.  I find it to be a perfectly frightening prospect, because while good and honest people like Palin are rejected and smeared by the DC Uni-Party establishment, these insiders feed at the trough of the political combat, benefiting, whoever the alleged winner.  They sidle-up to power and corrupt its authority.  They target whomever or whatever may wander into their sights.  If they lose today, they’ll be back the day after tomorrow, always looking for another way to feed.  I hope the President figures out who are and who are not his friends before DC manages to demolish him.  As Governor Palin says, “It’s quite disappointing to watch.”

To Ignore, or Not To Ignore; That Is the Question

Lights on; No one home…

Many conservatives are quite concerned about the appeal and rapid rise of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(D-NY,) the freshman Representative from the 14th District in New York.  Others believe that the non-stop coverage she’s receiving is driving that rise. The reason there’s so much concern about arresting her growth in popularity is that for some reason, she seems to have become a sort of Messiah for the youngest activists, and it’s causing distress to those who worry about the general direction of the country.  She’s a communist, all else being equal, and she’s dangerous in the same sense as Hugo Chavez was dangerous: If she gets too much momentum, she’ll become a dictator in this country.  On the other hand, there is a school of thought that she is a creation of the media, such that if the media decides to wreck her, she’ll be finished just as quickly as she started.  There’s definitely truth in both sentiments, but should we be concerned?  My answer may not please either group, but it’s my answer nonetheless: I will treat her exactly in the same fashion as every other leftist numbskull mentioned on this site: I will lavish her with my undying, unflinching contempt.  Besides, she’s likely to be put down by the DC establishment, an event that will only enhance that “Lights on; No one home…” look in her eyes.  If they fail, and they might, we may be in more trouble than we would have dared to imagine.

She doesn’t know it yet, but the leadership in both parties in Congress is preparing to clamp down on her like a vise.  After spending a whole day last week running all over the Congressional office buildings, and throughout the Capitol and grounds hunting for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell(R-KY,) and you can be certain the McConnell was apprised of her antics.  If you think McConnell is taking this lightly after the last two incidents in which he and his wife, Elaine Chao, (also secretary of Transportation,) then you don’t understand Mitch.  He may be a RINO, and he may hate the conservative base of his own party, but he truly hates the sorts of tactics that protestors have been using when going after him, and he’s apt to use all the power of his position to squash her like a bug.

Nancy Pelosi(D-NY) isn’t going to put up with much more, either.  The time is coming when Pelosi is going to hammer this twit, if only because Pelosi does not permit dissent within her caucus.  Any who voted against her speaker-ship will learn in short order, when committee assignments aren’t so kind to the dissenters.  It will also become evident when Ocasio-Cortez offers up a bill.  The former bartender is going to need a stiff drink.  Cortez has made the mistake of seeming to bad-mouth leadership, and Nancy, Steny, and the rest of the old bull Democrats aren’t going to sit idly by and be supplanted by this know-nothing child.  Even Chuck Schumer, over in the Senate, isn’t long going to tolerate her antics.  Together with Pelosi, Schumer may together make Ocasio-Cortez regret her early brashness.  My point is that media may be making a big deal of this poor, dumb, ignoramus, but in Congress, she’s a small fish in a huge pond, and the bigger fish are already eyeing her as supper.

There’s one reason to be concerned about Ocasio-Cortez, and it’s this:  She is being taken seriously by equally ignorant young people, (and here I use the word “ignorant” in its most precise meaning – lacking specific knowledge,) whose college educations have taught them as precious little about the real world as their heroine has apparently learned.  This is where the adults in the room can make the biggest impact, and it won’t be on a mass scale.  We need to take the time to explain to young people why Ocasio-Cortez is utterly wrong about almost everything.  She’s wrong about economics.  She’s wrong about history.  She’s wrong about climate change.  She’s just utterly, abysmally wrong.  She actually compared “climate change” to World War II, for Pete’s sake.  Part of the challenge lies in the fact that some of us have been less than diligent about educating the young people around us.  We’ve left it to the schools, so that there’s very little useful education remaining there.  We’ve left it to the institutes of higher learning, where questioning the orthodoxy is prohibited.  Worse, we have paid for the whole thing!

Part of maintaining our society that many otherwise perfectly sane adults tend to neglect is that they must exhibit and practice the same virtues in sustaining a civilized society and advanced economy that their forebears had practiced to build it.  If we fail now to steer our young well clear, and if we’ve been too late in realizing the necessity of that guidance, we will bear the cost when they join together and become the foot soldiers of this bug-eyed moron.  We will have earned the disaster she will inflict on America if she and he ilk ever rise to power.  For now, she’s an aberration, but as time passes, it’s becoming clear that she will have company, and what might have been an aberration will have become a trend.  That’s the real fear expressed in this argument as to whether Ocasio-Cortez should be ignored, or instead watched carefully:  Is this what’s coming? Is this the end?

One would like to be able to say “no” emphatically, but given the course of our nation, and the manner in which leftism has been institutionalized over the last three decades, it’s hard to say that with the certainty one might have preferred.  This may be the trend now building, but if so, there’s still time to stamp it out.  We may need another more serious talk about how that’s to be managed.  All those who ever intoned “Never again!” ought to see in all of this the signs that the old evil is rising again, in part because we failed to completely smother it, but also in part because the one most devastating frailty in human nature is the temptation of the path of least resistance, and we’re condemned to endlessly make war with this ugliest side of our primitive nature.

To ignore, or not to ignore; that is the question, but I wonder if we ask it too late.  I wonder if the time to have paid attention to Ocasio-Cortez was when we permitted the radical left to seize ownership of education, government, media, and the wider popular culture.  We should have anticipated that she and those like her would necessarily arise to fill the moral vacuum we’ve left by abandoning our institutions to the left.  This may be why I’m somewhat annoyed at the debate over how to contend with her: The fact of her existence may be all the evidence we need to know that it’s already too late to save our republic, and that to rebuild anything like the nation we had known, we’ll now need to fight a second civil war.  Yes, it is as serious as that.  We have permitted our own children to be turned against us, just as the Stalinists had done in the Soviet Union.

Another problem we face is that we’ve permitted the earning of credentials to become a viable substitute for actual knowledge.  This is part and parcel of our education system, in which credentials mean everything, but actual accomplishments are seldom achieved.  Getting a graduate degree in Women’s Studies is now more important than the question: For what is such a degree used, apart from teaching it?  Does it represent actual knowledge?  This is how we have arrived at this moment in history in which we have the glowing spectacle of a 29-year-old Representative, with a degree in economics(!) who clearly doesn’t understand the first thing about the subject.  This is how she can rail about “Climate Change,” and yet only a bare few in our culture even bother to question the legitimacy of the bodged-together “scientific consensus” that isn’t.

If you wonder how such a monument to ignorance could manage to rise so high in our society, remember that this is what the Democrats have been proposing as a virtue lo these last one-hundred years.  She is the pinnacle of their philosophy.  Now she agitates for higher taxes, socialized medicine for all, but guns for none but the moon-bats like her who will impose it all upon us.  She isn’t the sad result of the inevitable failures of socialism. She is the pinnacle of everything they believe; every pestilent nugget of their incongruous, inconsistent philosophy is spat into the public arena in the form of its perfect human representation: Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez.  Fact-less, thoughtless, regurgitating statist bromides, and howling at the moon while she promises to gang-rape the progressive movement, amid promises that she could “give zero f*cks” about push-back from senior Democrats, she is the perfect representative of the mindlessness the left has always favored, and she is here to “run train” on you, too.  Don’t beg that she now be ignored.  Mourn the fact that when the rise of her ilk might still have been prevented, our “conservative” politicians did nothing, but worse, we didn’t demand it of them.  Don’t worry, however, because long before she is able to do serious harm to you, she will need to demolish Chuck and Nancy and their ilk, who are not yet apt to go quietly.  She’s banking on doing to them what Barack Obama did to Hillary Clinton in 2008.

While it is true that the media created her, and that they yet retain the power to destroy her also, you should know that the media is largely comprised of her ilk, who care nothing for facts, but only lay their concern on the side of their own propaganda, as the teenagers from Covington Catholic School learned this weekend. I don’t think we should give her more attention than she’s due, because as an individual, she’s not clever or thoughtful or even original.  She’s another clone of a type, but the fact of her rise is the more serious thing to consider.  How do we have so many young people who are so thoroughly detached from reality, logic, and the wisdom of the generations who came before them?  I say it is dereliction. Whose?  Ours.

Those who support her seem to do so with a sort of religious fervor; they’ve found their new Messiah.  This really is a substantial part of the reason why Ocasio-Cortez could so easily rise to fame despite knowing so little and having accomplished even less:  The generation in question was left in a moral vacuum, by the culture, the schools, and most importantly, their parents.  That moral vacuum is the space into which demagogues like Ocasio-Cortez are always pulled, and it’s a space they enjoy.  Watch her antics to understand that she enjoys pushing the limits.  She wants conflict. She has been able to get away with it her whole life long, posturing as a learned person while demonstrating an ignorance immediately recognized by all but her followers.

She is the future toward which we are now galloping, unless at this very late date, we vanquish the failed ideas of which she is now the clearest public representative.

The Deep State Wants a Crisis

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

Be Prepared for Disaster

The partial government “shutdown” has gone on for a month.  The Deep State is becoming impatient and angry.  Democrats are claiming the people are with them, but that’s not exactly true.  The Deep State is with them.  It is the Deep State that is most affected by this partial shutdown, but the Deep State is also opposed to border walls.  The Deep State is preparing to create a false flag or contrived crisis or a national tragedy that will be used to cause President Trump to sue for peace.  They want it to be ugly.  The Deep State is out for vengeance, and its agents, like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi(D-CA,) have every intention of punishing the people of the United States to get their way.  Why do you think she and Adam Schiff-hole had planned to leave the country?  Safely out of the country, whatever happened to the people back home would not affect them.  The Deep State is angry now, and there’s every chance that it’s preparing to lash out.  Now is a time of danger for the country, not because Donald Trump wants to secure our border, but because the Deep State desperately opposes him.

The Democrats know they can scare the American people, thereby pushing them in the direction they need us to go.  The reason it works is because we continue to fall for it.  The specifics of the disaster the Deep State will create really don’t matter.  A terrorist attack?  A financial collapse?  A mass shooting?  A giant disturbance at the border?  Whatever it turns out to be, now that President Trump has shown that he’s not going to buckle, they’re got to find a way to drive him.  Remember that great admission of Rahm Emmanuel: “You should never let a crisis go to waste,” and the Deep State and its DC agents are more than happy to create the crisis.  The Atlantic article is just the basic preparation for this, so they can later claim “we warned you.”

This sort of stage-setting happens in media all the time.  It’s their way of trying to drive the herd.  If they get their way, they may be able to call off their plans, but more often than not, they don’t stop it.  It’s just too easy to cause harm to the American people and to drive them with fear.  Naturally, this is a big, complex, and dangerous world, so things can naturally happen without any Deep State involvement, but when I see the Atlantic running this sort of story, I know it has a point, and an audience, and the purpose is as I’ve described.  Don’t fall for it.

Pelosi could end this shutdown any time she likes.  Pelosi and her cohorts were willing to fly for a week to overseas locations while 800,000 federal employees go unpaid.  How can she and Adam Schiff-hole and the rest claim to care about the employees?  How can they claim to be negotiating?  It’s frighteningly obvious that Pelosi and her caucus aren’t willing to make a deal.  Some Democrats are getting wobbly, and for the most part, all except the most weaselly RINOs in the Republican caucus seem unusually committed (so far) to standing their ground.  This shutdown is really for all the marbles, and if President Trump doesn’t stand fast this time, he never will, and the Democrats will “run train” on him as insipid freshman Congress-commie Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez intoned early last  week.

The Democrats are becoming desperate, and with Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s health still in doubt, they’re apt to do anything.  I hope the Secret Service is diligent, because all that stands between a “President Pelosi” and us is the security of our president and vice president, and you know that left-wing nut-jobs seem to multiply these days.  The USSS is on the job vigilantly as their duties require, but I point out for the record that virtually all political assassins in American history were leftist nut-cases, whatever the philosophical leanings of the politician in question.  They are more than willing to overturn self-governance by assassination if they think it’s warranted, and leftist nut-jobs always think it’s warranted.  We mustn’t let them steal the presidency, whether by impeachment or by more grotesque and unlawful means.  The Deep State operators who are now beginning to face justice for their treasonous behavior.  There was no limit to what they would attempt by guile and subterfuge, but now, as the shadow of the hangman’s noose looms into view, they fear the wages of their treason, and whatever limits they might have observed are now completely irrelevant.  They need the crisis now in order to deny the justice they deserve, but if a crisis doesn’t arise on its own, they’re more than happy to provide one.

Gillette Shaves Toxic Masculinity

Tuesday, January 15th, 2019

It’s another depressing sign of the times.  Gillette has become the latest victim of androphobia, a disorder that seems to be sweeping the land.  As a result, their marketing department (apparently composed of hypoandrogenous boys and/or misandrous women,) is busy setting out to offend a sizable proportion of their customer base.  I don’t know what sort of business school they attended, but it can’t be a good one.  The video below chides men to drop their toxic masculinity in favor of some sort of more “civilized” maleness.  What none of these dolts seem to understand is that it has always been men who have civilized the world.  Otherwise, it would still be a matter of “rule of the jungle.”  Men won’t let themselves be bullied in this way, but it’s important to understand what’s at stake.  The Gillette Company was once a world leader, but it’s not the same company that King Gillette founded any longer.  A long time ago, when I was a young man with barely enough whiskers to shave, I bought my first razor, and it was a Gillette.  I’ve used Gillette razors all my life, but this advertisement tears it for me.  I’m a man, and wouldn’t be mistaken for anything else.  I doubt the women in and around my life would consider me “toxic” in any sense.  The idea that the default conduct of men is to rape, rampage, pillage and grill everything in sight is absurd.  When I first viewed this video, I kept waiting for the punchline. It never came:

Perhaps it is that Gillette is just trying to be noticed, and that this is some sort of marketing-department-generated publicity scam, but it doesn’t seem that way.  It seems as though the marketing department has been taken over by people who don’t know what masculinity is, but certainly seem to have captured every bad stereotype about it.  In much the same way that media loves to create caricatures of every group, but then disclaims bigotry, here Gillette has decided to portray men in the most negative fashion.  Masculinity is all about violence and abuse, if we are to take this video seriously.  According to this video, “men need to hold other men accountable.”  It’s been men holding men accountable since Genesis.

I’m actually surprised that more women don’t react badly against this.  They are the sisters, mothers, and daughters of men.  Surely, they cannot agree that this portrayal, this bad caricature of men, is anything but absurd.  One of the other things always implicit in this nonstop screed against the radical feminists’ view of manhood is that this is the default orientation of all men; if this is so, all women who choose men must be also fatally flawed.  They never seem to understand the self-indictment implicit in this view.

The odd part is that the masculinity portrayed in this video is out of control.  I’ve never associated “out of control” with the pinnacle of masculinity.  In fact, the models of masculinity I’ve known were very much in control of their lives and their passions.  I’m fairly certain that part of what my father set out to accomplish with us boys was to make us civilized, thoughtful, respectful, but only combative when self-defense or sport required it.  If Gillette sees masculinity in the light they’ve portrayed it here, I don’t believe they know their customers, and can’t possibly serve them well.  On that basis, I’m switching to Schick.  If that company goes off the deep end, I’ll switch to a straight razor or grow a beard.  I’ve been around far too long to permit some pubescent twits to insult me.  I don’t need them; they need me.

Grilling is always good, by the way.

Paul Ryan Sabotaged Nunes’ Deep State Investigation

Monday, January 14th, 2019

Swamp Rat Number One

Long-time readers will be aware that I’ve never thought much of former Speaker Paul Ryan(R-WI,) and that I’ve long thought he was just a Washington DC insider getting wealthy on his connections and position.  Now comes news that confirms what I thought all along: Paul Ryan actually punished Devin Nunes(R-CA) for tipping-off President Trump about the deep-state spying on the Trump campaign that occurred in the last year of the Obama administration.  No wonder then that Paul Ryan retired as Speaker of the House.  If the abuses of the FISC and the FISA process is ever fully disclosed, people like Ryan are going to be caught up in it all.  Ryan and his ilk are the swamp.  It’s no secret that Ryan didn’t want Trump elected, and did everything he could do undermine him.  Sure, he made some campaign appearances apparently on Trump’s behalf, but let’s be blunt: It was all about keeping up appearances.  The real truth came out when it was disclosed by Cleta Mitchell on Lou Dobbs’ show that Ryan punished(!) Nunes by putting him before the ethics committee, and that action stalled Nunes’ investigation for a year:

Do you understand what this really was? Paul Ryan, using his power as Speaker of the House, tied up Devin Nunes in a phony ethics committee investigation because he went to the President to warn him about the plot against him.  While Nunes was out of the picture, the investigation was being stalled and obfuscated.  Only once the ethics committee dispensed with the nonsensical ethics review was Nunes restored as chairman, and by then, he was going to be in a race to get things revealed to the public before the midterms of 2018.

This is sick.  Paul Ryan helped the DC Uni-Party get away with their crimes, if ultimately, they manage to do so.  I like Dan Bongino’s term for insider, DC Republicans: “Swamp Rats.”  Paul Ryan is all of that and more.  I wonder how many other swamp rats are among the Republicans who “retired” in 2018. They’ve been helping Obama’s people avoid justice because they’re owed justice too.  President Trump had better focus some of his energies on cleaning up the DC swamp before it swallows him whole.

Democrats Flooding Presidential Field

Sunday, January 13th, 2019

The latest Democrat to announce she’ll throw her hat into the ring is Hawaiian Representative Tulsi Gabbard.  The 37-year-old combat veteran joins a growing list of Democrats with short résumés crowding the field.  Of course, among Democrats, such a politician stands some chance of winning the nomination, if only because Democrats seem to seek out electoral phenomena rather than qualified leaders.  In some rare cases, like in 2008, they’re able to prevail.  Across America, there are dozens of female Democrat politicians who want to be the first female president.  It’s not to say there aren’t any in the Republican party, but Republican women generally seek to make their own résumés stronger, knowing that while the media will give popular Democrats a pass on qualifications, there’s no chance a Republican will ever be treated that way.  Young and relatively attractive, Gabbard has been cultivating an image as a “moderate” in her party, but it’s all show.  In the end, she’s another leftist, and she will advance the interests of the state.  Even twenty years ago, I’d have said she’s nuts.  Nowadays, given the direction of the Democrat Party, that seeks power at the expense of all else, anything is possible.  In a rational civilization, none of these people would have a chance, and that’s a problem for Democrats.

Gabbard is writing a memoir, which is another laughable notion, in my view.  I’m sixteen years her senior, and I don’t warrant a memoir.  In fact, I don’t want to read a person’s autobiography or memoir until they’re at least sixty years old, and then, they’d better have something compelling to say.   At thirty-seven years of age, the last four spent in Congress, what exactly has she done that is so memorable?  I don’t wish to belittle her combat experience, as she did her duty and did it honorably by all reports, but it wasn’t exactly like Audie Murphy’s. It’s also useful to note that she was a legislative aid to long-time Hawaiian Senator Daniel Akaka, a mostly useless legislator but reliable vote for the Democrats.  I don’t know that this is the source of her qualification.  By the time the 2020 campaign begins in earnest later this year, she’ll have roughly five years in the House of Representatives.  For the same reason I don’t think Robert Francis “BETO” O’Rourke is qualified on the basis of his congressional service, neither is she.

To report it bluntly, this is a problem that face most of the younger Democrats who plan on running for the Presidency: They’re not really an accomplished lot, all in all.  That doesn’t mean they can’t win, but it does mean they have serious credibility problems with a huge proportion of voters.  The most likely nominee is probably former Vice President Joe Biden, who despite his age, has plenty of pull within the Democrat Party establishment.  If Gabbard and some of the other younger Democrats are shrewd, they know this and will try to hitch themselves to Biden as the Vice Presidential candidate, and that could be Gabbard’s play here.  She doesn’t have the name recognition even within her own party yet, but if she plays her cards right, she might elevate herself in this way.

Part of the problem for Democrats is that they have either old tired bulls like Biden and a completely damaged old socialist like Bernie Sanders(I-VT,) or crazy, damaged moon-bats like Elizabeth Warren(D-MA). This leaves the inexperienced youngsters like Gabbard.  That’s not a solid path to the presidency, and if President Trump decides to seek a second term, his list of accomplishments to date will make him formidable for re-election.  Never forget that the power of incumbency is huge.  Few sitting presidents are ever defeated, and it takes a truly terrible performance for the people who elected a President to reverse their previous vote.

What I think candidates like Gabbard indicate is the frailty of the Democrat Party.  She would make a formidable candidate if she first spent some time as Governor, or something along those lines, but at present, she’s not ready.  This is the case for many Democrats in this rapidly expanding field.  There’s almost no chance they’ll be elected, but rank-and-file Democrats under forty tend to vote on emotion, so one can never say “never.”  During his two terms, Barack Obama did very little to grow the next generation of Democrat politicians.  They have some youngsters with promise, but they need more experience.  One might consider the laughable young New York Congressional member, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and it’s easy to see how Democrats can become so enthusiastic about her.  She’s raising unholy Hell at the moment, but it’s only a matter of time until leadership in the party reins her in.

Democrats face a serious problem in 2020.  Their surplus of viable candidates is mostly illusory, as demonstrated by Gabbard.  Strictly, she’s apparently a natural born citizen who has obtained the age of 35 years, but apart from military service and a few terms in Congress, I don’t see any accomplishments in her history that imply a significant or compelling qualification.  There is no record of having accomplished anything.  Where is the legislative record?  It’s pretty thin.  All in all, this is what most of the Democrats must confront.  Their old bulls have serious weaknesses.  If the Democrats run Clinton again, they’ll be beaten even worse than in 2016.  If Bernie runs, it will be a catastrophe of competing grievances against him.  He’s too damaged now to win the Presidency, and it’s now getting worse daily with the latest revelations about his 2016 campaign.  Biden certainly has a chance at winning the nomination, and with a younger, vibrant Vice Presidential running mate, perhaps like Gabbard, he might be able to pull it off.  The truth is, however, that despite their apparent electoral advantages, Democrats have a serious problem: They’re mostly not likable, by and large, and in their party, that emotional pull is a prerequisite, but even where they meet it, they’re desperately inexperienced.  As they flood in to fill the field, they should take care not to leave their few viable contenders in the position of lifeguards surrounded by a desperate crowd of drowning people.  Those who find themselves drowning may drag the stronger swimmers under with them.

Democrats Fighting For Their Lives

Scared Witless

The Democrats’ collective panic is growing in Washington DC.  Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is in rough condition, and may not hold on much longer.  President Trump is considering an emergency declaration with which to build a wall.  From the point of view of the Democrats, who were just sworn in as the majority in the House of Representatives, things are looking very desperate and very bleak.  Two legs of their electoral stool are under serious threat.  Roe v. Wade is the basis for a substantial proportion of Democrat fund-raising.  Protecting that faulty 1973 decision from Trump’s potential court nominees is essential.  Meanwhile, if Trump succeeds in building the wall, causing border-jumpers slow to a trickle, the leftist plan for re-populating America with voters who are apt to support their agenda becomes less certain.  If Trump launches a serious attack on their dominance of unions, the Democrats may explode in a furious tirade of violent protests.  They would be left teetering on the single remaining leg of their stool, the identity politics leg, and if that fails, the Democrat party will collapse and fade away.  They don’t dare admit it, but the faces of Chuck and Nancy on Tuesday evening said it all: Democrats are fighting for their electoral lives.  Like trapped wild animals, they are going to lash out in frightened fury; nothing is too ridiculous to consider.

It’s easy for conservatives to become discouraged.  The pace at which actual justice moves in this country seems slow when it is the DC uni-party elites who are to be investigated and judged.  The media is their organ, and there is no disguising the fact that for all appearances, they seem to have every advantage.  They’ve been busily driving the country into a ditch for more than a century without many intermissions.  They’ve captured our schools, our media, nearly all of higher education/academia, much of the legal establishment, and virtually all of the popular culture they dare show us.  They indoctrinate our children from the earliest moment that we find ourselves turning our kids over to them, and worst, and almost certainly most galling of all, they’ve figured out how to make us pay for it all!

The picture is quite grim when viewed in this way, but let’s try looking at it somewhat differently:  Despite all the advantages they’ve come to enjoy, their grasp on power is rather tenuous.  Their entire position relies on all the legs of their electoral stool remaining intact.  If any one of them falters or fails, they wind up on their backs.  They must have:

  • Judicial and Administrative control of the law
  • Unfettered illegal immigration
  • Big Labor’s undying devotion(and cash)
  • Racial, Ethnic, and Religious tensions bordering on open warfare(Identity Politics)
  • Control of popular media culture

They must hold the courts.  Too many of their most important voting and funding constituencies require it.  The more judges President Trump can place on all the Federal courts, the greater the chance that the left will find itself unable to sustain it ridiculous legal aims.  All President Trump needs to do is to populate our courts with “originalists,” or “contextualists” in the mold of departed Justice Antonin Scalia, or current Justice Clarence Thomas or Samuel Alito.  If Trump is able to secure a second term, continuing his good works in the judicial arena, he will have been one of the most successful conservatives in history.  This is why the left is so thoroughly “freaked-out” by the possible loss of Ginsburg.  They are willing to concoct and contrive anything, any sort of scandal, that will help them defeat, impeach, or at least neuter President Trump.  What else could be the meaning of dragging Michael Cohen before Congress?  Why else does Mueller seem to come out of the woodwork each time the President is on the rise?  The idea is to knock him down at each turn, stealing attention away from the president, while trying to chip away at his credibility one miserable tiny cut at a time.

Illegal immigration must continue unrestrained.  The Democrats’ more radical fringe of yesteryear knew that overloading our social welfare system would eventually bankrupt the country and drop us into Venezuela-like, catastrophic hyper-inflation.  Under those conditions, all bets are off, because radical demagogues will be able to offer every manner of cockeyed solution and have at least some of the desperately poor population believe it.  Run-of-the-mill Democrats knew that at the very least, they could replace the electorate against which they’d begun to lose routinely with newly-minted Americans upon whom they could rely to maintain the Democrats in power.  Notice that up until Obama came to office, the Democrats at least feigned opposition to illegal immigration. What changed is that in 2010-11, with the rise of the Tea Party, they realized that there was a “silent majority,” which when roused, could absolutely curtail all Democrat power.  This was the impetus for the shift.  After the Tea Party, the Democrats (and not a few foolish DC-beltway Republicans) decided that the only way to get an electorate to agree with them was to import it.  Not satisfied with illegal immigration, they’re waiting for the optimum circumstance in which they have a President and both houses of Congress open to a mass amnesty, and on that day, we will suddenly have 25-30 million new voters, at least eighty percent of which will be Democrats.  That’s the plan, folks.  It will then be two generations before anybody rises to defeat the statists, but by then, they’ll have so thoroughly destroyed the country and its constitution that it will be moot anyway.

Big labor has been the exclusive province of Democrats since at least Franklin Roosevelt.  There is little chance that Republicans will reverse this any time soon, at least where the unions as institutions are concerned.  The rank and file has shifted toward Trump specifically, in part due to his position on trade, but also because their own lives’ experiences lead them away from hard-left ideology.  This is not insignificant, and it’s part of the reason that even some leaders in big labor are leaving open the possibility that President Trump could get their endorsements in 2020.  Another factor in big labor is that their effectiveness as fund-raising mechanisms for Democrats is being curtailed to some degree by the judiciary.  As compulsory membership dues are coming under increasing judicial scrutiny, this will impede unions’ power over their membership and their impact in electoral politics.

Identity politics, or the politics of collectivized grievances, is one of the most insidious tools of the Democrats.  They own this segment, and the problem is that this leg of the Democrat stool largely controls academia and the education establishment.  At present, Republicans have no hope of taking any share of this segment, but more importantly, they shouldn’t desire to capture this wing, even were they able.  This is a completely despicable part, and at present, the indispensable leg, of the Democrat Party’s political stool.  This leg must be demolished, but the method by which to wreck it is not clear.  The best approach will probably be to isolate and ridicule it, while letting it destroy itself.

In any event, with two of their pillars under clear assault, Democrats will permit themselves to do anything you might imagine to attack their opponents, most particularly President Trump.  In the coming weeks, they will haul liars before Congress to slander the President, they will continue their highly coordinated attacks on the basis of the government’s partial shutdown, they will heighten their attacks on the President’s illegal immigration control initiatives, and they will present alleged “alternatives” like Nancy Pelosi’s “technological fence.”  We mustn’t permit ourselves to be misled by any of this nonsense, and we must remain focused on defeating the left.  While they will go to great lengths to hide the fact that they are in danger.  The media, which are the buttresses that brace the legs of their stool, propping up their lies and myths, have completely fooled the American people.  The truth is that they are much more desperate than they acknowledge.  They’re going to lash out now; it’s going to be on all fronts, and at once.  They dare leave the matter either to chance or to public sentiment. The time is drawing near in which they will commence total war on our President.  He’s really the last firewall between the American republic and its enemies, apart from we, the people.  The Democrats are wounded, cornered, and  explosively vicious.  They’re down, but not out, and they’re preparing to unleash Hell on the country to stave off complete defeat.

President Considers Emergency Declaration

Thursday, January 10th, 2019

There are reports that President Trump is considering an emergency declaration to build the wall.  The whole of the DC uni-party establishment is going to obstruct this action by any means possible.  As it becomes more and more evident that the Democrats will not compromise with Trump, never mind yield, I think it’s rapidly becoming apparent that if there is to be a border barrier or wall of any sort, President Trump is going to need to declare an emergency, bring in the Army Corps of Engineers, and build the wall out of funds that already exist for emergency construction projects.  There are tens of billions of dollars available.  It may be time for the President to make war against illegal immigration.  War.  It’s what a plurality of the American people expect, and it is a plurality of Americans, via the electoral college that elects presidents.  Even now, the media is scrambling to figure out a way to ask a poll question that won’t show this fact.  President Trump is winning, and so long as he stands firm, he’ll win.  In stark contrast, the longer Speaker Pelosi(D-CA) and Minority Leader Schumer(D-NY) hang onto this shutdown, stubbornly opposing the will of the people, the bigger their loss is going to be.  The whole truth that the media, including FoxNews, is hiding from you is that Trump’s margin of support is increasing.

There’s an effort to stop any emergency declaration among some DC establishment Republicans.  Your Senators and Representatives still need to hear from you.  If you’re a Texan, you need to call Senator Cornyn(R-TX) and tell him to get off his duff and support the wall.  Do you know why Ted Cruz(R-TX) wasn’t defeated by Robert Francis O’Rourke?  The conservatives of Texas got out there and pushed him through.  Does Cornyn think he’ll get that kind of support when BETO v2.0 come along when he comes up for re-election?  Not a chance.  Conservatives ought to know that this is a chance to really take the measure of their Congressmen and Senators.  Any Republicans who don’t support this critical issue ought to be challenged in their next primary election.

I believe the President should declare an emergency.  I believe he should use existing emergency statutes to take the least amount of property possible from Americans living along the border, and compensate them accordingly.  I think he should use funding that already exists in emergency accounts, and he should bring in the Army Corps of Engineers to build it.  He should bring in Army combat engineers and Navy Seabees to provide the labor.  On the one hand, we’re not building improvised landing strips or beach-heads in any foreign S-holes at the moment, so they need the training.  We can send the 1st Cavalry Division, including all air assets, from Fort Hood, Texas, to provide security and support.

I think President Trump is right about at least one more important factor:  Our military has been shipped all over the globe for the interests of people all over the globe, except Americans, in most cases.  For a change, the military can support the American republic.  Even now, the Pentagon is drawing up contingencies for deploying forces to build the wall.  Meanwhile, the left continues to push the “manufactured crisis” narrative, as CNN fake-Republican Ana Navarro demonstrated her contempt by filing her nails as murders by illegal aliens were being discussed.

I am happy to support President Trump’s efforts on our behalf.  This situation has gone on without any sort of serious response for far too long.  It’s time we put our politicians on notice, now that we have a president who, thus far, evinces the will to get this done.  To get it done, he may need to effectively declare war on illegal immigration.  If we’re to save this country, this is a war we must fight and win.

President Trump Makes the Case; Democrats: “No!”

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

In an Oval Office address on Tuesday night, President Trump delivered a simple, straightforward address.  In the address, he laid out the humanitarian, law enforcement, and national security case for building a serious border wall or barrier.  He left no ambiguity about the effect our border has on our nation, now essentially in an open and undefended state.  He refuted the notion put forward by incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi(D-CA) last week that the wall is “immoral.”  The President made it clear that what is immoral is the collection of DC politicians who refuse to help fund our nation’s security, leaving Americans wide open to being victimized by illegal aliens.  What was shocking about last night’s events was the response by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer(D-NY) and Speaker Pelosi.  The pair looked wooden, and scripted, almost Howdy-Doody-like.  Memes popped up on Twitter and elsewhere, and a lot of sport was had at the pair’s expense.  They accused the President of lying and “creating a crisis.”  After a few minutes, it was clear that they were making a political argument, but they were not addressing the crisis at the border.  First, here’s the President’s statement:

Then came the response by Schumer and Pelosi:

There were many memes, but this struck me funny:

American Tragic

There were many memes throughout the evening after the speeches, however, to return to the more serious matter of border security, it seems as though President Trump’s purpose was to lay out the case for actions he may be planning to take if Congress will not negotiate in good faith to build the border wall or barrier the country needs.  He may be forced to take emergency action, and if so, this address will likely have laid the groundwork for an emergency declaration with the American people should Congressional Democrats refuse to assist him in securing the country.

Our President Needs Our Help

Tuesday, January 8th, 2019

President Trump isn’t merely trying to uphold a campaign pledge, although that’s surely part of it too.  He isn’t simply pandering to his base, although the media would like to defame him with that smear, since it’s what passes for normal in Washington, DC.  President Trump is fighting like Hell for us!  It’s our nation. It’s our children who are maimed and murdered in endless mayhem by the illegal immigrants who stream across our Southern border every day.  You can see the diminution of our nation daily.  Socialist welfare-state programs are breaking us.  Police officers slaughtered by illegal thugs!  This is out of control, and it must finally end.  It’s our country!  Many readers of this blog were Tea-Party folk, or patriots generally, and it was you who helped fuel this.  It was you who made the current surge possible.  It’s time to stand with our President.  I don’t agree with everything President Trump does, but on this issue, on the matters of the border and the security of our nation, he needs us to do verbal combat with the media that seeks to destroy his agenda which is our agenda in this issue.  Enforce the law!  Secure the border!  Line-jumpers to the end of the line! It’s time to build that wall!

President Trump should declare an emergency if need be to get this done.  The situation at the border is clearly a crisis, as Americans continue to be maimed and killed by people WHO SHOULD NOT BE HERE!

It’s time to create a little bit of a storm, folks. It’s time to get this done. Tonight, the President will address the nation, while the Fakenews and Democrats do everything they can to downplay the situation and mock President Trump, and by association, YOU. This is just like the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan was trying to rebuild our defenses after the debacle of the Carter years, and the media downplayed the need for the build-up.  That build-up finally led to the end of the cold war.  That build-up vanquished our greatest external threat.

Here we are once more.  I have long held that a military draft is immoral, because I have always believed that so long as the country is worth defending, Americans will show up to defend her.  You’re blessed in that you’re not being asked to bear arms in this fight.  What we do need is YOUR voices. Let the voices of patriots everywhere rise in unison. Let them be heard above the lies and propaganda of the media.  This is our country, damn it!  It does not belong to the people who occupy the DC bubble or the Northeast media subculture.  It’s our country, and if we mean to take advantage of this chance to keep it, it’s time to support our President as he fights for us. While President Trump is fighting for our wall, let’s get engaged so that he can finally push this through. This is our moment to begin reclaiming our country.  Let’s not waste it.

Editor’s note: Where is our commitment?  We can fight this deep-state leviathan! Go out and spread the word. One person does make a difference. We can make a huge difference together. Go get’em!  All together now!

Queue the tweets: #BuildThatWallNow! Call your representative and senators. Tell them to stand with our President. Ignore the media. Ignore the Democrats.  Get your family around the TV together tonight.

Napolitano Wrong, As Usual

Tuesday, January 8th, 2019

As usual, the open-borders, chamber-of-commerce media, including FoxNews rushed out to tell you what you need to know.  As usual, they intentionally mislead you about the nature of the law. While I’ve already covered this issue, demonstrating plainly that President Trump has the authority, the media is great at lying and propagandizing, and sadly, that includes FoxNews on immigration-related issues.  Everything is squeezed through the filters they want you to see.  Let’s take a look at what FoxNews “Judicial Analyst” Andrew Napolitano has to say, and let’s see about the facts.  First, the video:

Now let’s analyze Napolitano’s claims and assertions about the law, which I’ve here paraphrased and condensed for further examination:

  • Presidents can’t seize property under emergency declarations.
  • Presidents can’t spend money without congressional authorization in an emergency.
  • The President must “make a case” for a declared emergency.
  • If the President had authority to spend money under emergencies, we’d have seen it before, but we haven’t.
  • Sometimes Congress has “looked the other way” when Presidents reallocate defense money from one use to another, but it doesn’t make it lawful.

First, as a general observation, let it be acknowledged that in certain respect, Andrew Napolitano is a radical libertarian on immigration generally, which is a strong reason for FoxNews to have picked somebody else to provide “Judicial Analysis.”  Naturally, FoxNews is itself a corporation that favor open borders, so it’s easy enough to understand their motives in picking open border hacks like Napolitano to make this particular case.

The first assertion of Napolitano was that the President cannot seize property under emergency declarations.

Let us go right to a pretty open-and-shut case: Roosevelt ordered the surrender of privately owned gold and gold certificates to the Federal Reserve on 5 April, 1933.  This was done under executive order 6102, with authority arising from the Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917, as amended. Gold is private property. Roosevelt was acting pursuant to an emergency he declared. Not convinced? Let’s go on to a second example, shall we?  In 1944, Roosevelt ordered the plants, offices, and warehouses of Montgomery Ward to be seized in order to force compliance with an emergency-based order of collective bargaining with a labor union, due to the ongoing war, which was the basis of the emergency. (World War II.)

Let’s just stop right there on Napolitano’s first point.  He’s busted.  Thoroughly.  There are hundreds more examples where Presidents made seizures of private property in time of war or emergency.  It’s called the “rule of necessity,” and it is the legal basis for all emergency doctrine.  Like most libertarians, I find such authority despicable, but they exist, have been exercised, and precedents must be recognized, as all the “wise judicial analysts” like to insist.

The Law: 1  Andrew Napolitano: 0

His next assertion was that Presidents can’t spend money without authorization by Congress in an emergency.  Let’s ask a Democrat Congressman:

Imagine that!  In addition to this, however, there are at least three known instances of Presidents’ spending without any prior Congressional appropriations:

  • Washington’s Unilateral spending to suppress the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion
  • Jefferson’s purchases of saltpepper and sulphur after the Chesapeake incident
  • Lincoln’s advance of $2 million to purchase supplies in advance of the Civil War in 1861

(See pages 22-23 of the following PDF from Harvard Law:  Constitutionality of Executive Spending)

These are older examples, but if it was good enough for Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln, it’s probably good enough for President Trump.

The Law: 2  Andrew Napolitano: 0

His next assertion was that Presidents must “make a case” to declare emergencies.  This implies that a President must go find approval.  That’s not the case. In point of fact, all a president must do is issue an emergency declaration, and point to his legal authority, and then act.  This has been done repeatedly.

The Law: 3  Andrew Napolitano: 0

His next assertion has already been covered: He claimed that if the President had such authority, we’d have seen it used before, but we haven’t.  See Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln above.

The Law: 4  Andrew Napolitano: 0

His last general assertion is that Congress may have “looked the other way” when it suited them, but that it isn’t lawful.

The problem with this notion is that legal precedents are born of such practices.  If Congress historically “looks the other way,” time after time, permitting the President to do such things without challenging them, it can also be interpreted as an endorsement of that action, or at least an affirmation of its legitimacy. In short, the court could very well view it as a precedent that bears upon their decisions thereafter.  “Looking the other way” once or twice might be tantamount to surrendering the issue in perpetuity.

The Law: 5 Andrew Napolitano: 0

Of course, there was at least one more assertion that had been made by Brian Kilmeade in the video clip above.  He mentioned that one couldn’t rightly term this an “emergency” because it would take too long.

This is a bizarre point.  The United States has been operating under all sorts of emergency statutes for DECADES, some of them continuously since the days of Jimmy Carter, and even earlier.  Read this fascinating article.

Imagine that, and yes, score Mr. Kilmeade a big fat zero.

It’s time for the left and the pro-amnesty, open-borders media and political culture to shut the Hell up and get out of President Trump’s way.  If he declares an emergency, he’ll have every bit of law and precedence on his side.

Panic in DC: Possible SCOTUS Vacancy Driving Impeachment

Tuesday, January 8th, 2019

She can barely remain awake when she appears in public.  It is now being reported that she won’t even sit for oral arguments of cases before the court.  It’s sad that, avoiding other catastrophic, sudden ends, we all eventually come ’round to the time when we can no longer keep up a standard work-day or working life.  Nobody wants to become useless.  Nobody wants to feel like a burden to their families or their fellow citizens.  Ego has a way of driving people to continue in a fashion that both logic and nature dictate is no longer possible.  Having survived at least three serious bouts of cancer, including pancreatic cancer, which few survive, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is no longer able to keep up the schedule of a Supreme Court justice, and those with even the barest human compassion realize that it is time for her to retire, but the left is in a panic.  Donald Trump is president, and they haven’t managed to impeach him yet.  They must get Ginsburg to hold on to life and her seat on the court if they are forced to put her on life support and a feeding tube, strapping her, scarecrow-like, to a stake.  They hope they can get rid of Trump by way of impeachment in time to appoint another leftist to replace Ginsburg. The leftists in Washington DC are contemplating everything from feeding tubes to a strange imitation of “Weekend At Bernie’s” in order to attempt to preserve the seat on the high court. None of it will work, but the shame lies in the insistence that this octogenarian remain on duty until they can conjure up a method to replace her with another radical leftist.  Perhaps worse, Ginsburg has given every indication that she’s willing to be used in this fashion.

What they haven’t really considered is that even if they impeached Trump tomorrow, and somehow convinced two-thirds of the Senate to remove him the day after, the problem of a dying/retiring Ginsburg would not go away: President Pence would then make the appointment, and a Senate firmly in the hands of Republicans would undoubtedly approve.  Game over.  Checkmate.

One would think this argument would be enough to convince them to mercifully relent, and to finally let Ginsburg go.  One might think that Ginsburg would finally give in and realize that no one person is that important to the court that they cannot be permitted to retire or die.  One might think those things, but one would have to be completely unaware of what drives leftists.  In their collective hive-mind, the possibilities are endless.  They are concocting everything that the human mind can conceive (and not a few things that it can’t) in order to preserve the seat on the court.  Democrats are convinced that if they can somehow rid themselves of Trump, they will be able to recapture the ideological edge on the court, but this is a fantasy.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been the most radical element on the court since Bill Clinton appointed her to replace Justice Byron White in 1993.  It is odd that a woman who advocated for making children younger than 12 years of age capable of consenting to sex is now treated by the left as some sort of indispensable totem on the court.  Or is it?  After all, Ginsburg has demonstrated throughout her career that she is capable of the most irrational radicalism.  She agitated on behalf of sex-integrated prisons.  That’s right, she wanted to house both male and female inmates together.  Ginsburg is the person who drove the replacement of the term “sex” with “gender,” a thing that ought to make every student of language happy to see her go.  In short, she’s been a half-baked lunatic her entire working life, which by my own estimation, has gone on at least twenty-five years too long.  I am not suggesting that I want her to die.   I merely wish her to retire, but given her influence on the court and the constitution these last twenty-five years, it cannot come soon enough.

When she finally leaves the court, there will be some chance of eliminating the numerical advantage the left has due to Justice Roberts’ ridiculous posturing as the new swing vote, and the President’s nemesis.  Ever since Obama and his crew exercised pressure on Roberts, he’s been unreliable at best.  Let us hope that should President Trump get another Supreme Court pick, he chooses as well as when he selected Justice Gorsuch.  I half expect Kavanaugh to wind up as a moderate justice, having been so thoroughly smeared by the left.  He’ll feel obliged to show he’s “fair,” despite what was done to him.  Whomever Trump may eventually pick, it must be a solid originalist.

This will not go easily.  As with everything else President Trump undertakes, he will find massive and unanimous opposition from the left, and some opposition from the NeverTrump wing of his own party.  People like Mitt Romney(R-UT) are always looking to be a thorn in his side.  The Democrats are in constant fear of losing a tight ideological strangle-hold on the Supreme Court, primarily for one reason: Roe v. Wade.  The 1973 decision of the court effectively legalized abortion from sea to shining sea; from conception through delivery.  Protecting Roe v. Wade is such a baseline imperative to the left because they know it is written on flimsy medical, scientific, and legal grounds.  It’s ripe for an overturn, and this is why the Democrats are in a quiet panic.  So much of the campaign contributions Democrats receive grows out of this poisonous, wretched well of murder-profiteering that they cannot afford to leave any stone un-turned in pursuit of wrecking Donald Trump’s ability to replace Ginsburg.

If you think they were dishonest and shrill when it came to Kavanaugh, you’ve had only a sample-sized taste of what Democrats will do.  They will all come out of the woodwork now.  They will attempt to impeach Trump.  They will attempt to remove him from office.  Wait for Mueller’s Get-Trump-Brigade to pull out all the stops.  Ladies and gentlemen, there is nothing more important to the near-term political future of the Democrats.  If they don’t stop Trump from appointing another Supreme Court justice, they will see their agenda seriously imperiled for the first time in three decades.

At the moment, Democrats are playing it cool.  “Nothing to see here, just move along.”  Behind the scenes, they are frantically scouring law books and case precedents in pursuit of a strategy to stop Trump.  They know Ginsburg’s time is likely running out.  She’s effectively the patron saint of Roe v. Wade on the court.  If they lose her, it will be horrifying for them, but to potentially lose her seat in the ideological balance of the court will lead them to do almost anything.  Behind the scenes, they’re in full panic mode, and while they don’t dare admit it, or even acknowledge they’re thinking about it, you’d better believe that almost nothing else is dominating their time.

Mitt Romney: The Bitter New Flake in the Senate

Mitt Romney: The Bitter New Flake in the Senate

Mitt Romney: Next time, you’ll vote for him or else…

In the tone of a jilted spouse, even before he assumed the office of junior senator from Utah, Mitt Romney demonstrated clearly that he still doesn’t have what it takes to be President of the United States, and that he’s still not over his defeat of 2012.  In an Op-ed printed on New Year’s Day, in that bird-cage-liner called the Washington Post, Romney couldn’t help but take one swipe after another at President Trump.  He was throwing down a gauntlet, but not to Trump.  It’s as though he wanted to poke each member of the Trump-supporting electorate in the eye: How dare you not back him as enthusiastically in 2012 as you had backed Donald Trump in 2016?  Michigan, the state his father had governed, did not vote for Mitt in 2012, but the state went clearly and convincingly for Trump in 2016.  Romney is still angry.  He still cannot believe that the American people would pass over his petulant, broodingly childish ego in favor of Trump’s. He simply can’t believe it!  He’s every bit as angry about it as John McCain became after 2008, when he decided that the American people hadn’t been good enough to deserve a McCain Presidency.  To write this diatribe, going on about the temperament of the President, while demonstrating the utter indecency of his own character is astonishing.  The one thing made unmistakably clear in this episode is that Mitt Romney has demonstrated his own definitive incapacity for the Presidency, owing to a lack of character. Here is the ultimate case of a political pot calling the kettle “black.”

In 2012, many conservatives voted for Mr. Romney as an act of desperate self-defense, myself included.  In truth, it’s the same motive that caused me(and I suspect many other conservatives) to vote for all the Republicans of the last thirty years.  I don’t remember being smitten with George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, John McCain, or Donald Trump.  This was certainly true of Romney, and it’s why I didn’t know whether I could stand to vote for him in 2012 even as I stood there looking wistfully at my ballot for all the other names I’d have preferred to be able to choose.   Let’s be blunt: The sort of establishment and/or moderate candidates who tend to win the Republican nomination surely are not my preference.  Encumbered as our nomination process has become with open primaries, (permitting Democrats and Independents to exert undue influence in selecting the Republican nominee,) it astonishes me when we can pick anybody with the ability to win.  Mitt Romney was not a winner.  He was saddled with all the worst aspects of the Republican establishment class, including a record that was decidedly big-government, low-freedom, and weak on immigration.  True “Law and Order” Republicans would have trouble with him, as would working-class Americans who recognized the vastly different priorities of the establishment so that they could not therefore raise any enthusiasm for Romney.  Add to this that he was not well-liked among evangelicals in the Republican party, and what resulted was a campaign destined to fail.

This was also true of McCain in 2008, although he had made a stronger play by selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate.  She’s solid, and the electorate recognized it, but they also recognized that she was not at the top of the ticket.  When McCain played his “suspended campaign” card  in the face of the financial crisis in the Fall of 2008, he might just as well have conceded on that day.  All the good will he had gained by selecting Palin was wiped out, and despite her incredible efforts to rescue McCain campaign in its last days, wanting to campaign in Michigan and so on despite being told “no,” even her Herculean efforts to resurrect the campaign could not overcome the insufficiency of the man at the top of the ticket.  After losing the election, McCain looked baffled, and then hurt, and finally angry.  Evangelicals had withheld too many votes.  He had betrayed too many conservatives in the past with some of his more ludicrous legislative initiatives, and too many remembered his harsh words about conservatives.  Naturally, all of the people in media whose favor he’d sought when bashing conservatives, had now abandoned him in favor of Barack Hussein Obama.  Even his unwillingness to pronounce his opponent’s middle name (lest he be accused of some “ism” or other,) made it plain to conservatives that while his running mate certainly was the real deal, McCain, himself, was not.

After that, McCain was never going to be anything but a pain in the ass to Republicans in general and conservatives in particular.  He was too embittered about his second rejection by the American people to be able to overcome his anger.  His first rejection in 2000, running against George W. Bush for the Republican nomination, was stinging, but it led him to further alienate himself from the very people he would need to show up enthusiastically in 2008.  Notice that Romney followed the same basic formula: In 2008, he lost to McCain in the primaries, and in the end, even having secured the nomination in 2012, he was still angry about his 2008 loss.  The Republicans never seem to notice that their moderate candidates always seem to get their nickers in a knot when they lose the nomination.  Instead of trying to make peace with and perhaps even win over conservatives, in their next attempt at the nomination, they seem always inclined to negate and mute the influence of conservatives in the nominating process, while still wanting their votes on election day.

There is also something that happens to the psyche of a person who  is rejected for that office by the whole body of the electorate.  Think of them, our last 10 Presidential losers: Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, John McCain, John Kerry, Al Gore, Bob Dole, George H.W. Bush, Michael Dukakis, Walter Mondale, and Jimmy Carter.  Carter and Bush were salved by the fact that they at least won a single term in the Oval office.  Neither of them trusted the American people again afterward, but the fact that they had served a term in the office protected the American people from another candidacy by either.  It’s astonishing to realize that the tendency of those who lost outright, never to be elected, rather than seeking to make themselves more appealing to the electorate, simply insisted that there must be something wrong with the electorate.  One need only return to thoughts of Hillary and her “basket of deplorables” remark to see the truth in this.  Mitt Romney’s “forty-seven percent” remarks, while essentially true in some respects, had the same net effect on working-class Americans who felt as though they had been deposited in the bin of “47%-ers” by people like Romney who unapologetically hacked up companies and sold off their bits and pieces for profit while at Bain Capital.  It doesn’t matter that what he did was legal.  It doesn’t matter that what he did was perfectly sensible in economic and market-centered terms.  It was the fact that the people whose lives had been overturned by such events felt in his remarks a searing contempt for their lives and their plights, rightly or wrongly.

People who run for the office of President have a tremendous ego in virtually all cases.  This has been true since George Washington, a man who thought very highly of his own public reputation, working tirelessly throughout his life to maintain a particular image.  Every person ever to seek the office must have some notion about their superior ability to rule over their fellow man, or they would not seek the office.  It is a very heady thing to obtain power over one-third of one-billion people, as our modern presidents now must do.  People like Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton are among the sort who think they’re owed a term or two as President.  Mitt Romney thinks so highly of himself that he saw no problem in campaigning for the Senate as somebody who would not become a Flake or a McCain, opposing President Trump at every turn out of sheer bitterness.  As other observers have noted, during the campaign of 2018, Romney never said a word about his antagonistic intentions, now plain, with respect to President Trump.  Naturally, that’s precisely what he is going to do, and now the people of Utah can see it clearly.  In short, the people of Utah fell for it, and now we’re stuck with this presidential reject and his bitterness for at least six years.

I know the feeling.  In Texas, we have on the one hand, a solid conservative fighter in Ted Cruz, and on the other, an establishment hack in John Cornyn.  In Utah, they have Mike Lee, who has been a pretty solid conservative to date, and they have the newly minted Bitter Senator.  “Win some, lose some,” or so goes the saying.  Still, I think there’s a lesson to Americans in all of this: If somebody runs in the general election for the office of President, but loses, it’s time to put them out to pasture.  No office other than President will be enough to satisfy their ego, and there’s no limit to the damage they will permit themselves to do in order to punish the electorate who dared not to elect them.  Such is the case of Mitt Romney, and it’s a bitter lesson the voters of Utah will be forced to endure, and the rest of us, not quite bystanders, together with them.

Presidential Authority During National Emergencies

Sunday, January 6th, 2019

As the media begins to go absolutely nuts over the idea that the President might declare an emergency and re-allocate military funds to build the wall, it would be useful to review all the sorts of authorities any President has in time of emergency.  The radical statists who comprise the left are in favor of such power, but at the moment, such power, in the hands of President Trump, is contrary to their political interests.  Their whole shtick is “resist.”  Their rabid, anti-America base will oppose him simply because he’s not them.  The NeverTrump republicans, including opportunists like Mitt Romney, will undoubtedly oppose him.  Before the shrill voices grow louder, confounding our ability to understand the issue, let’s look at the law to see if we can easily surmise whether such an action by the President is authorized by the constitution.  After all, the constitution must be our yardstick.  With that in mind, let us examine why it is that President Trump is fully within the bounds of his constitutional authority to declare an emergency and build the wall, using the military to do so if need be.

First, let’s see what the President has to say on the matter, this past Friday in the Rose Garden:

One of the things always available to any president is the powers of Commander in Chief.  Article II of the United States Constitution makes one thing expressly explicit in Section II:

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”(Emphasis mine.)

The bolded portion here is easily understood.  He’s in charge of the military.  He decides how and when federal troops and state militia[national guard] will be deployed.  He, solely, is vested with the authority to determine their mission, and their day-to-day activities in pursuit of that mission.  Not Congress.  Not the courts.  Not the Secretary of Defense(who works for him directly.)  Nobody else trumps the President in the deployment of the armed forces.  Nobody can countermand him in his role as Commander in Chief.  Not John Roberts.  Not Nancy Pelosi.  Not Mitch McConnell.  Got it?  Seriously, if you have any doubt whatever about this, I have doubts about your reading comprehension.

The President can, within his authority, bring all of the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines, be they active or reserve components, or National Guard components, and assign them the mission of building the wall.  He can, within the scope of his authority, redirect EVERY MEMBER OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES, up to and including the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and also all DoD civilians, shovels and pick-axes in hand, to begin building the wall. He has this authority.

Some will point out that this is all well and good – that the President has the manpower available – but he does not have the money for the materials.  Wrong. Since the President determines the disposition of the Armed Forces, he also has some significant latitude in determining a number of things.  He can, at any moment, instruct the SecDef to cancel a contract.  Imagine all the whining Congress critters who have significant defense contracts in their districts who would lose their collective minds when he redirected funds in this manner.  It’s within his authority. Also, he can call all active forces to support the Army Corps of Engineers, who he can command to direct the construction.  There are all sorts of caches of “emergency funds” built into various budget areas that can be put to work in this way.  Congress is powerless to stop it because they’ve already appropriated and authorized the funds.

The President of the United States has broad powers already delegated to him by Congress to meet various emergencies.  For instance, while I believe the War Powers Act is probably unconstitutional if any President wanted to challenge its limits, there is nothing to prohibit a president from feigning compliance. A president could very easily declare a national security emergency arising from our porous Southern border, and deploy our forces in support of that mission. At the very least, he’d have 60 days to make an initial report to Congress, and a further 30 days to withdraw forces(which means the limit is effectively 90 days, where US border operations would be concerned.)  He need only be able to show that there is an attack of any sort on the United States.  Did you happen to notice those Soros-funded idiots throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails and other weapons at our border agents recently?  That’s an attack against the United States, folks.

Readers would do well to acquaint themselves with Title 50 of the United States code.  It would also be useful to examine the Insurrection Act of 1807, as amended.  This, by itself, may provide all the justification Trump would need under existing law.  Congress would be powerless to impede him.  Under the auspices of the National Emergencies Act, the President can do all manner of thing, but all Congress may do is pass a joint resolution of both houses of Congress to stop it. (And this may be open to Presidential challenge in courts.)

As readers are well aware, the United States of America has been at war since 2001.  Due to this fact, the President’s general set of authorities are somewhat broader than they might otherwise be during peacetime.  Folks, President Trump has so much power that he hasn’t even begun to exercise that he could build a wall from San Diego to Manhattan before the courts could untangle it all.  The simple point is that the President has this authority.  You may not like it.  Hell, generally speaking, I don’t like it because it has been abused constantly to the detriment of the American people.  Wilson and Roosevelt were monsters.  They did so many things under “emergency doctrine” that still carry the weight and force of law that I shudder to consider it.  If President Trump finally acts to build a wall along our Southern border, it will be one of the rare legitimate uses of such powers in my lifetime.

Democrats and NeverTrump RINOs might hate it, but if President Trump pursues this course, he’s certainly got every manner of precedent to support him, and there is every conceivable loophole in existing law to support it.  If he really wants to, nothing can stop President Trump from building that wall, except perhaps  impeachment and removal, and while the Democrats may be able to carry out the first, there’s next to zero chance they can remove him in the Senate. The American people would revolt.  Bank on it.

A Time for Choosing…Again

Saturday, December 1st, 2018

trump_retweetIt was more than fifty years ago when, while campaigning on behalf of Barry Goldwater in October of 1964, Ronald Reagan asserted that America had arrived at one of those moments in history when the choice before the nation would set out direction for generations to come.  He called it “A Time for Choosing,” and parts or all of his speech is still replayed on talk radio shows, and quoted extensively in conservative media.  What’s not often mentioned often enough is that American chose incorrectly in that election, and we’ve paid a steep price ever since.  I’m no Ronald Reagan, but I contend that we have again arrived at “A Time for Choosing,” although in this case, the choice is not about an election.  This time, we’re confronted by something far more terrible.  This time, it’s not about our politicians, or even our laws, but instead about us.  It may or may not be resolved be elections.  It may result in a mass resort to violence.  Ladies and gentlemen, we now exist in a period not unlike 1860-61, a nation so thoroughly divided that it may not be held together.  The Special Counsel is using his offices and authority to gather and impound all of the evidence against himself and his co-conspirators.  Robert Mueller is attempting a new sort of coup d’etat, and if we permit it, we will never see liberty again.  Neither will our great-grandchildren.  It’s time to choose, and now, you must choose a side. Will you stand for our republic as you have so often pledged, or will you let the feral swine who have corrupted our system continue to run riot on our nation?  I, for one, will stand.

The Republican Party is a bankrupt institution.  They set aside conservative principles long ago in favor of pragmatism and electoral success.  They were also morally compromised, and easily gave over to extortion.  The Democrat Party is even worse, corroded over long decades by all sorts of communist and socialist radicals who have finally converted their party into the overt manifestation of Bolshevism in the United States.  The fact that Robert Francis O’Rourke(D-NY) could come so close to victory in Texas is evidence enough of the dire straits into which our nation has drifted.  That a bumbling, moronic dimwit like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(D-NY,) perhaps challenging even Houston’s own Shiela Jackson Lee(D-TX) for the title “dumbest person in Congress,” would not be possible but for the fact that America has chosen wrong regularly since Reagan put that choice to her people more than fifty years ago.  Our elected officials either seem unaware of what’s happening, or they seem to want what is coming. They exhibit no concern whatever for the future of the country, and no remorse whatever for what they will do to our children.  Meanwhile, the vast body of the people stands by silently, letting it happen with little or no opposition.

You might ask me what I’m on about. After all, this isn’t the first time I have issued a dire warning about the condition of our republic, and probably won’t be the last.  In this case, however, the cause is encapsulated in the speech of Dan Bongino, below.  He outlined what has really happened, and what’s worse is that he explains what’s likely to be the result.  Watch it:

If Bongino is correct, inasmuch as he suggests that justice will not come for the corrupt bastards running the show, our republic is dead.  Dead.  The trouble is that you will decide that matter.  Either you will insist on justice, or your will not.  This isn’t about whether you like or hate Donald Trump.  It’s not about any of that political claptrap.  This is about whether we’re going to have a republic of the sort to which we claim to pledge our allegiance, or instead a sort of banana-republic with a mere facade of “liberty and justice for all.”  Is this going to be the Potemkin village of liberty?  Were all our war dead sacrificed for that?

I want you to think most thoroughly about the meaning of what Bongino has laid out.  Just like Bongino, Trump was not my pick in the primaries of 2016.  Just like Bongino, I’ve come to admire the fact that for all his myriad flaws, it seems that Donald Trump loves the country, and that he at least fights like Hell. What bothers me most in all Bongino says here is a notion he confirmed in his podcast of Friday, the 30th of November: There will be a deal.

His proposition is that this scandal has been so broad and so vast and included large numbers of figures in the Clinton-Obama orbit that there is no way to bring them all simultaneously to justice, and that to attempt it would be to throw the country into anarchy, chaos, and turmoil.  His implication is that the Clinton-Obama crew has intentionally fomented a hair-trigger reaction from their political adherents such that we’d have an insurrection of some sort, were all the criminals simultaneously rounded-up.

Obviously, this is too small a blog for Mr. Bongino to know of, but I wish I had a way to convey to him a few things:

1.) This is personal. The toll the Clinton crime family, and all those connected to them, have exacted upon the people of this country is large, real, and thorough. I don’t care what the cost may be any longer.  After almost three decades of watching these people make utter wreckage of our nation, it is time they are brought before the bar of justice, and if we must have civil strife to bring them to justice, then let me sign first on the dotted line to be among the instruments that will quell that strife. My life, my fortune, and my sacred honor. All these, whatever token value they may be, I pledge to the preservation of the republic.

2.) This is a matter of Justice. Our US Department of justice has been an incredibly corrupt joke ever since the Clintons began using FBI files to blackmail members of Congress and their staff, members of the bureaucracy, and also members of the judiciary back in the 1990s. The entire US Federal government, including segments of every department, have been hollowed-out and undermined by this stinking, festering rot of corruption, favoritism, and extortion ever since.  There can be no restoration of the Department of Justice, never mind justice itself, if any sort of deal is made.  These people must all go down, whatever the cost.  If we must make a deal with the villains, there can be no justice, and the restoration of our Republic will remain out of reach, foiled this time by those who ought to have been its champions.

3.) It is said that the American people will not be able to process it all if such were to happen in one fell swoop.  I disagree.  I believe people of good nature and good faith have lost their trust in the righteous nature of the most of the American people.  Perhaps too long in and amongst the villains, some seem too willing to accept the villains’ assessments of the American people.  It’s as if they believe we “can’t handle the whole truth.” I assure you, this is a faulty notion and belief.  If the President and his cabinet and other relatively clean leaders in DC and around the country go forth to tell the American people the whole truth, the American people will hear it, but those who do not and who will not are likely of the same corrupted class as the villains.

To Mr. Bongino, I would say that the idea that it would be too much for the American republic to survive is to underestimate the heart of what is the republic.  At no other time in history has the republic been more ripe for such a revival.  Our young people don’t believe in America’s greatness, we are told.  If those who had known better will now shrink from justice because it might incite a brief but calamitous fight, is their cynicism not justified? Wouldn’t it be to surrender and thereby prove the purveyors of their anti-American indoctrination correct?

I don’t speak for any person but myself.  I’m just a guy with a few remaining brain-cells and a keyboard. In this instance, and in the name of the republic, I need a president who won’t make a deal.  I’ve heard it said that the true art of the deal is to know when to say: “No deal.”

Now is that time for choosing again, but this time, if we fail – if we choose incorrectly again – there will be no chance at redemption.  Mr. President, the American people have been betrayed too often by their leaders, with too many bad deals.  Now it is time for you to say “No deals.”

Burn them all, and let us rebuild the Republic in sight of their ash-heap.

The Treason of the Anointed

Short Reception Wedding Dresses
If you’re an American, or if you’re a British subject, or if you’re a citizen of a European country now subsumed into the catastrophe called the European Union, you should know that your nations are in the process of being stolen from you.  There is not a single government among them that is eligible to remain, and every one of those governments is infected with the virus of treason. The United States, of the most central interest to this blog, is now in the throes of its present death, not by some armed foreign invader, but by an infectious agent deposited among our alleged “elite” political establishment.  These people are a disease unto themselves.  They have sold their country out to the world’s thugs, and the time has come to pay up.   Donald Trump was elected president under the rules of our constitution, but he will not be permitted to exercise that office in any but the most superficial way.  Every long-time visitor to this blog knows I had been no particular fan of Donald Trump, the man, or Donald Trump, the candidate.  Quite to the contrary, I have been very critical of many of his positions and pronouncements, and I doubt very seriously that this is likely to change.  One of my most thoroughgoing criticisms of Donald Trump has been(and remains) that he exhibits no particular devotion to any specific, or self-consistent body of principles.  That criticism and all of the lesser complaints that fall out of it are easy enough to understand, but what may cause some confusion is what I will say next:  If we are to save this republic, if that is our actual goal, we must preserve and rescue the presidency of Donald J. Trump, warts and all, even from itself, lest we lose our nation forever.

This seems a rather obnoxious claim, and on its surface, I would generally dismiss such claims as radical hyperbole.  Let me attempt to support that claim, or reference others who have done a masterful job in so doing.  Let me begin by making the following assertion:  Donald Trump was elected President of the United States through a process during which he took no steps that would ordinarily be considered illegal or even quite unfair under the political system in operation since our founding.   In fact, it might well be said truthfully that Donald Trump had managed to overwhelm a system that had been unfairly rigged against him.  Does anybody seriously wish to contend that the outcome of the 2016 primary season had been reduced to another Bush-Clinton showdown until Donald Trump came down that escalator in June 2015?  Do you know who are the Never-Trumpers still in existence at this late date?  They are the people furious with Donald Trump for interrupting this precise outcome.  “By what right?”  “He’s not even really a Republican!”  You can hear their shrill contempt still echoing in establishment media, and through the halls of Congress.  If in the primaries of 2016, you voted for Donald Trump, you put your finger in the eye of this establishment.  I  must here note that I did not vote for Donald Trump in the primary in 2016.  Let me also confess that had I known two years ago all I have learned since, I would have done so enthusiastically.  It is not that I believe Donald Trump is a great president, or that my opinion of Donald Trump as an unprincipled man has changed, but that I now see the true enemy more clearly than ever I had seen it before.  The real enemy is far more frightening than Donald Trump could ever be, because Donald Trump does not hate this country.  Our real enemy is out to destroy the USA, and is well along that path.  Donald Trump is the final possible obstruction.  Will Donald Trump save the republic?  I don’t know.  I only know that his will likely be the last opportunity to do so in our lifetimes, and perhaps ever.

The entire “Russian Collusion” narrative was cooked up to confound and demolish the Trump presidency.  I want you to know that any sophist who approaches you with another argument about it is either a knowing participant in the treasonous conspiracy, not merely against Trump, but against our republic, or is a willing political tool of those conspirators, believing themselves to be on the same “team.”  Think of the latter(and more numerous) group as our contemporary version of Stalin’s “useful idiots.”  This includes the more innocent “NeverTrumpers” out and about in the conservative movement, who believe their principled opposition to Trump ought now lead them to participate in the “resistance.”  These must come to understand the truth:  Trump is the duly elected President, and all efforts to interfere with his authority as such are born of the real collusion between the two parties’ DC establishments in an ongoing treason against the whole body of the American people, and the republic to which they were born.

There are a great many people attempting to chronicle the truth about what is going on, but I think if I had to credit one person in media for making it more understandable and aggregating all the bits of this monstrous situation into  a single, cogent narrative, I would have to credit Dan Bongino.  Bongino has a daily podcast, and since episode 628, he’s done more to put this story together in one coherent story that the average person can easily understand, without appealing to a single “conspiracy theory.” In fact, everything Bongino has put together is backed up by public news reports, in much the same way Mark Levin had done a little more than thirteen months ago, when he made the public accusation that FISA warrants had been used by actors within the Obama administration to conduct surveillance on the Trump campaign and administration under color of law.   For his part in bringing this to light, and for his continuing efforts to expose this, we mustn’t forget that Mark Levin has done more to lay the groundwork than any other person in media.

Before we go further, I am going to ask you something extraordinary.  Please go listen to Dan Bongino’s Episode 698. Read his show notes for that episode.  Here’s the episode, posted on YouTube:

How many of you know or remember these names:

  • Kathryn Ruemmler
  • Robert Bauer
  • Greg Craig

If you want to know who is orchestrating the theft of your country, you’d better learn these names and the deeds associated with them. Bongino has been unmasking this plot against the American people since episode 628 of his daily podcast, back on January 8th of 2018.  It just happened to be the case that I first stumbled into Bongino’s podcast for the first time on the very next day, and it happened to be part 2 of that same story.

If you want to save the Republic, let me tell you how that can be accomplished at this very late date:  Robert Mueller must be fired.  Rod Rosenstein must be fired.  The Republicans threatening to impeach President Trump should he fire Robert Mueller must be exposed.  They are part of the plot.  They are the Republican co-conspirators who are participants in stealing your country.   There are more than these vocal Republicans, a list that includes scum like my own Senator, John Cornyn, and others  like Lindsey Graham.  Trump must fire Mueller now, and he must assemble a team empowered to take down the conspirators.  You will be shocked by the breadth and depth of the conspiracy, but you must know it all if you are going to rescue your nation.  Robert Mueller must be fired to have any chance to save this republic.  The whole DC Uni-Party knows it. What remains is for you to recognize it, rise up in indignant rejection of it, and to reclaim your country.  Whether you’re a fan of Donald Trump, or perhaps instead held your nose and voted for him rather than see the epic criminal shrew win instead, or even if you didn’t vote for him at all, unwilling to “hold your nose,” it’s time to recognize that he is the president, and he is now the only person of significant governmental power standing between our Republic and the abyss.  Act accordingly.

Editor’s Note: On a more personal note, I realize now that many of you had hoped my previous string of posts signaled my re-emergence. Obviously, that wasn’t the case, but I do believe that day will come before this year elapses.  Between health concerns, the various burdens of my personal and professional life, it will be some time yet.  It just so  happens to be the case that occasionally, a story or bit of information comes to light that I believe must not be missed, and this is one such story.  I remain fiercely committed to our constitution and the form of government it had established, but the ugly truth of what has been done must be widely known if we are to defend and preserve it.  Forces much more violently aggressive to our liberties are afoot, and they are striking back at us now for the impertinence of electing an unapproved President. These self-anointed “elites” are nothing more than modern-day brigands hijacking a nation, or a whole collection of them.  Even now, the rats, having eaten numerous holes in the hull of our ship of state, are fleeing our capital in an orderly fashion to prevent a panic or questions. These are the conspirators who now believe too much has leaked, and too much is out  in the light for them to evade criminal culpability if they remain in Washington DC.  The ones who remain are on the hook, and there’s no way out of it for them, so they are staying to fight this all the way to the bitter end, whichever way it goes. They have nothing to lose, but everything to gain, including avoiding the noose.  Yes, this conspiracy is as serious as that, and it’s why Obama and his circle of conspirators remain in Washington DC: Should all this be revealed to any substantial degree, they’re all going to prison at the very least.  This is why we must insist that President Trump fire Robert Mueller.  Mueller is the key to this operation, and this is why people like Trey Gowdy are not to be trusted.  Ever.

grim_reaper_ftI’ve listened to the usual suspects in politics and the media telling Americans how those who support the Second Amendment want dead children.  I know a large number of fervent Second Amendment advocates, and I’ve yet to find one among them who wants to see dead children.  This scurrilous sort of claim from the left should be familiar to you by now, because we see it in virtually every issue.  When the issue is healthcare, we’re told we don’t care about people, and want to see Americans die for lack of “affordable healthcare.” Then, as if written in the script, the left institutes a huge government healthcare boondoggle that drives up the cost of healthcare for Americans in the range of four-thousand dollars per year.  Sure, everybody has a healthcare plan, but nobody can afford to use it due to the extraordinary deductibles that have accompanied “universal healthcare.” This is the thing you learn about leftists if you watch them long enough, and see what they actually do.  Every time they accuse their opponents of some evil, you can be sure that not only is it a lie, but that in fact, it is they who seek to enact the very evils they decry.  It’s so predictable that it’s become nauseating, so now I’m going to tell you the truth about the school safety issue:  The left says the NRA and the Republicans want dead children, but I’m going to prove to you that they don’t mind dead children at all, so long as it is they who kills them.

I could stop right there and walk away, task complete, but some would not be convinced by the mere assertion.  They will need some evidence of my accusation, and I am obliged to offer it here.  For decades, all my life really, I have heard the statist left accuse Republicans and Libertarians alike of wanting dead children because those groups will not support gun control.  In the first place, Republicans support all sorts of gun control, and sadly always have. It was Ronald Reagan who signed the 1986 act of Congress that banned the further sale of automatic weapons to civilians.  From that point forward, only those automatic already in civilian hands were to be permitted to exist, and they would be heavily taxed and regulated, and due to the incredibly small number, their prices are so absurdly high that most people could not begin to afford one.  That was enacted by a Republican.  Ronald Reagan?  Remember him?  It was one of the three things he did in the entirety of his presidency about which I still have real heartburn.  (Amnesty, and pulling the troops from Beirut after the barracks bombing and the death of 241 US Marines, for the record.)  Surely, that is gun control, and surely, President Reagan was a Republican. Is he off the hook for his alleged desire to “see children dead?”  No, of course not.

Of course, if we’re interested in the question of dead children, as my friend Mr. L has pointed out recently, they had no problem with more than fifty-million dead children killed in utero by Planned Parenthood. They never miss an opportunity to see as many abortions performed as is possible.  It’s not, as they argue, about the availability of “safe” abortions, but instead, about seeing to it that as many are performed as necessary.  They claim to care about the women too, and accuse opponents of abortion as condemning women to unsafe, back-alley, coat-hanger abortions, but the truth as we have seen is that these clinics are dirty, their doctors don’t have hospital privileges, and women die due to the unsafe, unsanitary conditions, as well as the utter incompetence of the sort of hacks who tend to perform abortions in these human slaughterhouses.

The leftists who run the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association profess to us the undying love and devotion for the children of the teachers they represent, and while I have no doubt about the love many teachers have for their students, I doubt very seriously that either the AFT or the NEA have the first thing to do with it.  I have no doubt but that Coach Feis, who placed himself in the line of fire between the gunman and children, had a deep sense of devotion to the students, but I point out that while the AFT and the NEA are opposed to teachers being armed, Coach Feis was reportedly a concealed carry permit holder, but did not carry at school because it would have violated the law.  I believe the AFT and the NEA prefer dead students and teachers to the alternative of armed teachers.  So much for the AFT’s or NEA’s alleged love of their members, never mind the children.

Then there’s this: These people tell us that they don’t wish to take away our guns, but only make us safer, more like Australia!  Well, in fact, in Australia, they took away guns.  The evidence has shown that crime has increased since.  Imagine what happens to we Texans down here on or near the border when the drug cartels needn’t even worry about being repelled by ranchers with rifles?  It’s astonishing.  In Chicago, daily, they have nearly as man people shot as in the incident in Parkland, Florida, but Chicago has the strictest gun control in the country. In a month, the body county in Chicago rivals or exceeds the casualty count in the notorious Mandalay Bay shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, and many of the dead are children, most of them young black and hispanic males.  They tell us what love they have for people of color, but what the truth reveals is that they have no problem stacking up their bodies like kindling for their socialist funeral pyre.

Even in less lethal circumstances, they always falsely accuse others of what they’ve already done.  Consider Trump. They tell you “he colluded with the Russians to swing the election,” but what we now know is that they worked with Russians and other foreign agents to concoct a story about Trump so they could justify their spying on the Trump campaign throughout the 2016 election season.  They’re even willing to undertake treason, which is the very crime of which they’ve frequently and vociferously accused others.

Now I’m going to let you in on the deadliest of their secret. As they tell you they don’t want full communism, and that that Trump and other Republicans or conservatives are “dictators” or “tyrants,” to date the only evidence of that is when they were inclined to go along with the statist left on issues like gun control. Remembering, as we must, that they accuse others of what they actually intend, consider this: They accuse Republicans of wanting to enslave others, or to kill them outright, so what then must we conclude about the left’s actual intentions?  They say they are not tyrannical, and don’t wish to take our guns, but all the evidence is contrary to that postulate, and all of recent history shows they’re actually inclined to commit the crimes of which they accuse others.  This means, taken to its logical conclusion, that the statist left intends to turn us into North Korea, or some ghastly approximation of it.

When one examines the results of the “Promise” program exposed in Parkland, Florida, whereby the criminal activities of students were concealed and obscured in order to get more federal dollars for the school district, one cannot help but notice the result: A future killer was left to roam the streets, when in fact, Nikolas Cruz should have been jailed and/or institutionalized long before.  The problem is that this wouldn’t have served their purposes at the time, so that now you know that this kid was a known danger all along, and that they left him free to eventually wreak havoc, like they knew he would.  They’re fine with havoc, so long as it advances their agenda.  They’re always willing to break a few eggs.  In for a penny, in for a pound.  The statist left doesn’t mind deaths that serve their purposes.  The money these greedy leftist school administrators took from the feds is simple blood-money to get the local stooges to happily, perhaps unwittingly play their assigned parts. The longer-term result of suppressing freedoms they hope to abolish is the primary goal of the monsters who provided the federal cash.

Ladies and gentlemen, don’t take my word for it.  Trust your own eyes and ears, and the history you know, and the facts you have discerned. If any political organization in the United States wants the death of children, it is the anti-American, statist left.  They profit from dead children, but the profit they seek is not mere money, but total dominion over your lives.  They want you and your children dead, but only on their schedule, once you’ve served whatever use they have in mind for the remainder of the miserable existence they will permit you to endure.  If Donald Trump gives them an inch, there will be even more dead children because they will have learned where is his weakness, and how to get to him.  President Trump had better catch on fast, or he will have played right into their hands.
