Romney “Not Concerned for Poor”

Did Drudge "Miss" This?

Romney has fallen directly into the trap laid by CNN, and this clip will be used in Obama campaign ads on television indefinitely.  This is the sort of thing Romney should have gone out of his way to avoid, and while I understand the point he was trying to make, his clumsy way of making that point will ultimately be used against him, and will play directly into Barack Obama’s class envy theme for the general election.  Romney clearly has no idea what he’s just done to his own prospects, because when further questioned on it, he doubled down. Mitt Romney just doesn’t get it, and you can bet that will be the media refrain as they help Obama in September and October.

God bless you Mr. Romney. I am very touched just to hear someone say that they care about us middle class people. In a lot of ways, we are the poorest of all. We are told we are too “rich” to get any government aide but we are also too poor to pay out of pocket for all of our needs. There is so much outreaching support for homosexuals, feminists, the very poor, and the rich. Its seems noone cares about all those in between even though they are the backbone of our society. I am a current college graduate who has been looking for work for 2 years now and have only found temp. jobs that pay minimum wage. I fear for my future under the Obama administration. All I want is a decent job to buy what I need. I’ve already accepted that I will never live a comfortable lifestyle, but I sure would settle for the life I had 4 years ago. At least then I had hope for my future.
