Like so many of my conservative and “conservatarian” brethren, it’s not in our nature to ramp up for battle at the drop of a hat. We’re not wired that way, because by and large, we’re live-and-let-live sorts of people. It’s not that we shrink from fights, but that we hold our fire until it matters. Ladies and gentlemen, given this election cycle, the state of the union, and the recent events that now confront us, it is now clear that it very much matters. It’s bad enough that the media has spent four years or more in collusion with the Democrats and the so-called “Deep State” trying their best to overturn the last election, or outright sabotaging President Trump’s efforts, which have been substantial, but now we are confronted with a vacancy on the Supreme Court going into a Presidential election. Worse, we have a number of DC establishment RINOs in the Senate with whom we must contend if we are to avoid squandering this vacancy (and any subsequent.) As I remarked in my quick post last night, there are immediate, practical reasons that the President should immediately nominate a replacement, but there are many more important reasons we must now rise, not only in support of this President’s re-election, but in full battle dress for the coming war. Make no mistake: The next forty-six days and those following the election are a war. Our object must be to attempt to achieve full victory while preventing this political war from becoming a real war. It’s our last chance to save America. It’s not the last step, but it’s the biggest leap we must make. This is an all-hands-on-deck battle, and we must not fail. For once, we must unite, come what may, and fight like Hell to defeat them.
It’s not unlike the cold war: We never came to all-out combat directly against the Soviet Union, but we engaged them in proxy wars, and there were hostile “incidents” that resulted in the deaths of Americans and Soviets. Thankfully, our strength and determination along with the productive and technological might, backed by the spirit and devotion of Americans won out, but there were losses we must never forget. This battle will be waged at first with phone calls, faxes, emails, tweets, and other social media posts. It will require protest marches, counter-protests, and a ground game the likes of which we’ve never waged before. It will be waged in courts, but ultimately, it may be waged in the streets. We must not fold. We must be disciplined. We must recognize that the whole world will be watching for us either to over-react in intemperance, or to weaken and crack. Ours is always a fine line, because the people who write the narratives about events are completely one-sided, and they will act even to lie, never mind exaggerate whatever we say and do.
Our goal is simple: We wish to restore America to a constitutional order, wherein all Americans enjoy the full measure of their liberties as guaranteed under the Bill of Rights. To do this, however, we must wrest control of the courts and the Congress from the DC establishment. The DC establishment consists not merely of Democrats, and not only also some Republicans, but also the vast and overwhelming majority of media and popular culture figures. The entire education establishment, much of the bureaucracy and the whole of the political consultancy and lobbying class is arrayed against us. The only reason we’re still in this fight is because we, the people of the country, actually vastly outnumber them, when we can all muster for battle. Too often, since we’re busy living our lives, providing for our families, running our businesses, and simply engaging in the art of being Americans, we too easily leave our agency idle, hoping others will stand and fight in our place. It’s easy to understand: No person can perpetually stay at full battle posture. It’s simply not practical and frankly, none of us can have that energy in perpetuity. That said, I am continuously amazed by how energetic our President remains despite all that is arrayed against him. It’s time for us to bear that in mind, stand with him, and rise not only to his defense, but recognize that he’s been standing in the breach in our stead. Our stand is for our whole way of life, and we must make it now. Remember that while the rank-and-file of our antagonists don’t really understand the purpose of their fight, we know the values for which we stand, and that is our edge. We know what’s at stake.
Our immediate purposes must be these: We must see to it that President Trump is able to nominate a justice to the court. In the short run, leaving the vacancy will serve as fuel for our adversaries. They treat Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a cult figure, but we know the truth about her record as a justice on the Supreme Court, and her earlier record in the judiciary. Nevertheless, they have so thoroughly propagandized our youth that they’ve succeeded in creating a widely-accepted albeit false collection of narratives about Ginsburg, and the Supreme Court generally. It’s time for us to shatter the myths. It’s time for us to tell the truth. We must put forward an argument that is logically and factually unassailable. I will start with one here:
It is already being said by Democrats and media, along with a couple of DC establishment RINOs, along with Joe Biden that “the American people must have a say in picking the replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.” The only answer to this that matters is:
The American people have had their say. In 2016, they selected the person who would be President from January 2017 through January 2021, knowing that President would have the authority throughout the entirety of that term to select and nominate persons to the federal judiciary, including the United States Supreme Court. In short, President Trump has been empowered by the American people, via constitutional process, to make this selection. Period! His term doesn’t end until January 2021. Until then, it is his pick to make, and it is up to the United States Senate to dispose of his nomination one way or the other.
This is why we must hold or expand our majority in the Senate in the coming election, but for now, we must rise up to put a boot in the backsides of any wayward Republicans. We must get on the phone, send the faxes, show up at their offices, and do whatever we must to will them to do their duty. This is our fight. This is our time to rise. We’ve watched the anarchists, ANTIFA, BLM, and the Democrat-Media Complex make wreckage of our country and obstruct our president. It’s time to fight like Hell because we have no choice. It’s our country, These are our lives and liberties. We must not relent.
