This is what I’ve been reporting since Wednesday, when it became readily apparent based on available videos that Capitol Police seemed to invite protesters into the Capitol. This doesn’t excuse anybody who made entry elsewhere or broke windows and other forms of hooliganism, but this seems to go a long way in explaining why so many people may have gone into the Capitol, unthinkingly following the herd, and unaware they were doing anything wrong or that they shouldn’t have been there. If they went to the door of a government building, and police officers open the door to let them in, have they knowingly done something illegal? See the whole report here at JustTheNews. According to this report, Congresswoman Debbie “Blabbermouth” Wasserman-Schultz(D-FL) said:
“Then we also have to make sure that we answer the questions about how some of the things that happened on Wednesday could have happened without there being inside assistance because I hate to say that, I pray to God that is not what happened, but there were some actions taken that you can’t just imagine how they happened without some kind of permissiveness occurring.”
This tends to mitigate much of this “angry mob” narrative, doesn’t it? I can’t imagine how this happens without somebody high up in the Capitol Hill police force knowing it, authorizing it, and telling officers to facilitate it. That fact should immediately put egg on the faces of everybody from Nancy Pelosi to Mitch McConnell to the mainstream media, not to mention the throng of leftists calling all Trump supporters “domestic terrorists” and other such nonsense. More, this tends to shoot a giant hole in the entire “incitement” narrative being hurled at President Trump. In the video below, posted on Twitter, it appears that protesters were invited and ushered inside by Capitol Police. This same thing may have occurred at multiple entrances. Certainly, we need to know who ordered this effective stand-down and breach of security by Capitol Police, and motives need to be immediately investigated.
