Governor Palin appeared on Hannity on FoxNews on Tuesday evening, explaining why she thinks this process of vetting is far from over. Hannity asked her a number of pointed questions, on a variety of topic revolving around the primary season, including whether the process should end soon, since it seems they’re damaging one another more than the President. She answered with a play on words:
“A boiled egg is hard to beat.”
Asked about the possibility of a brokered convention, she made it perfectly clear as to whether she thought she would have any role in it when Hannity asked about her willingness to step forward:
“The establishment will never come to me, I know that for a fact.”
They discussed the attacks coming at Rick Santorum, and went on to explain that people should stand with Santorum on the question of good and evil in this world. More, she stressed the very topic she’s discussed before, and I have explained at length in these pages about the direct link between our economy and the availability of energy resources, and how the lack of the latter throttles the former. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made two appearances on Fox Monday, first on Fox Business with Judge Andrew Napolitano, and then on Fox News with Sean Hannity. On Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano, she was asked about how she would vote in Florida, and her calculus in making that determination. I think you will find that interesting. It was pretty clear from the outset that Napolitano was trying to lead Palin to say ROn Paul would be the superior candidate, but Governor Palin gracefully avoided that trap, pointing out that only Gingrich among the potential nominees has balanced the Federal budget and actually led to significant cuts in entitlement spending(Welfare Reform.)

On Hannity, she talked not only about how she would vote, but also who it is that constitutes the establishment she’d like to see overthrown. She gives some good criteria for identifying the establishment by their record, and I think that’s another important nugget she offers viewers in this interview with Hannity:

You may remember my earlier coverage of this group, going back to late September, but I think it’s time to become more watchful still. The organization “Americans Elect” is intent upon influencing this election by putting a candidate on the ballot in all fifty states, who will be selected by an Internet-based process, but will ultimately come down to the decision of the directors of the group. In other words, they’re putting on the farcical show of making it look democratic, but in fact, what the final selection of the candidate will be the choice of management. On Thursday night’s Hannity show on FoxNews Channel, Doug Schoen, one of the prime movers and shakers for the group defended the effort, as Hannity and his other two guests, Mike Gallagher, and Amilya Antonetti joined in condemning the actions of Americans Elect as just one more front acting to divide the anti-Obama vote and thus give Obama a victory in November. Here’s video of the exchange:

What remains astonishing about this group is how little coverage it is getting, despite its nationwide effort to get on the ballot in all fifty states. It’s run by close associates of George Soros, and anybody who doesn’t see the Soros signature of mischief in this hasn’t been paying attention. One of the most disturbing things about the group has been the fact that it legally changed its form in order to avoid disclosure laws that would have given people a better sense of who is funding them. Frankly, I have no interest in any group that won’t tell me where their money originates. Be wary when you see this group, and if you hear friends talking about it, you might wish to caution them as well. There’s something rotten here, and it’s beginning to stink mightily.
Unfortunately, I missed this interview as it first aired, but aa reader forwarded me a link to the Youtube video, and I belatedly viewed it with great interest. Sarah Palin was on Sean Hannity’s show on Wednesday night to discuss a range of issues revolving around the Republican nomination fight, and some of the issues that have been raised in the recent criticisms of Romney’s record at Bain, among other things. I was interested to see what Governor Palin would say with respect to the questions about all of these things.
She was careful to draw a distinction between attacks on capitalism and capitalistic endeavors, and instances of such things as bail-outs to companies with which Romney is or was involved. When Hannity pressed her on Perry’s characterizations of “vulture capitalism,” she redirected the question toward the larger subject of free market capitalism:
“I would hope that Governor Perry and the other candidates would shift gears a little bit and start talking about how important it is that we do embrace free market capitalism and fight against crony capitalism that is a problem in Washington DC, and kind of focus along those lines.”

Palin also mentioned two unresolved issues with Romney that we need to consider is the release of Romney’s tax returns, and also the issue of his claims of 100,000 jobs created. It’s a hard thing to take Romney seriously as he continues to withhold information that will be a bludgeon against him if he should be nominated. She also mentioned that a portion of all of this was inoculation against future attacks, and that’s an accurate assessment. By playing up these issues now, they’ll be “old news” later.
One of the funniest moments of this interview was when Hannity asked Governor Palin for her impression on Michelle Obama’s statement. Her reaction was probably much like that experienced by many Americans who heard this, because it hints at just how thoroughly out of touch those in the Obama inner circle really are.
I think what I will take from this interview is that Palin’s focus on the importance of free market capitalism in drawing the distinction between Barack Obama and the eventual GOP nominee is going to be critical, and contrary to conventional wisdom, this may not automatically redound to the benefit of Mitt Romney as some may have assumed. As I’ve noted, the fact that he was a businessman doesn’t necessarily make of him a capitalist, and the evidence is mixed, particularly considering his record as governor of Massachusetts.
